Harvey Norman has been slammed on social media after a customer took issue with a ‘Red Hot Deals’ basket and posted a photograph of it online.
The photo, uploaded to Reddit on Monday, appeared to show the discount basket filled with a collection of power cords priced at $49.95.
‘Harvey Norman have a “red hot deals” basket, then stock it full of items at full price,’ the Reddit user captioned the image, pointing out the product had no discount.
Dozens of other people were quick to slam the electronics and furniture giant, which has almost 200 stores across Australia.

‘Yeah (and) watch out for those rip off USB Keys and SD card rip offs in their bins. Anything computer in those bins are massive rip off,’ one user commented.
‘Welcome to the race to the bottom. Cut, slash and burn everything to get every last cent out. Its rife across so many industries where they can get away with it,’ added another.
‘And don’t forget that Harvey Norman prices are significantly higher than other retailers,’ claimed another.

‘That is just one example of one s*** store manager. The store in my town is still fairly new and always clean’ one person wrote.
‘Kinda like saying McDonald’s is failing because you’ve been to a dirty store with s*** customer service a couple of times.’
