Has Prince Andrew’s interview had repercussions for Beatrice? Princess reins in wedding day celebrations with no carriage procession nor live TV

  • Prince Andrew facing backlash over interview on friendship with Jeffrey Epstein
  • He denies having sex with a teenager trafficked by the billionaire paedophile
  • For years the Duke has pushed for his daughters to have more central royal roles
  • Daughter Beatrice is set for low-key wedding, unlike sister Eugenie’s last year

Buckingham Palace announced the engagement in September of Princess Beatrice, 31, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi

Prince Andrew’s car crash interview could have repercussions for Princess Beatrice as his daughter has reined in her wedding day celebrations, scrapping the planned carriage processions and live TV coverage.

Her marriage to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will pale in comparison to the opulence of sister Eugenie’s nuptials last year.

A close friend of the family told Richard Eden: ‘It will be more low key. Bea and Edo are happy for their wedding to get less attention.’

The ceremony may still be held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, where Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank.

But the couple are also considering a smaller venue in central London.

Four Windsor Grey horses pulled Eugenie and Jack round Windsor in the Scottish State Coach as their wedding aired on ITV.

Buckingham Palace announced the engagement in September of Beatrice, 31, and Edo, 37, who has a three-year-old son with his ex-girlfriend, Dara Huang. Officials revealed only that their wedding would take place next year.

The Queen will be in attendance, as will other famous faces, with Beatrice’s friends  Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding and James Blunt among those who may turn out.

The event is said to be following the example of Lady Gabriella Windsor’s marriage to businessman Thomas Kingston earlier this year.

Although that ceremony was attended by the Queen and other Royals, the couple merely provided the media with official photographs after the event.

Beatrice’s brother-in-law Jack works for Casamigos, the tequila brand found by George Clooney and Cindy Crawford’s husband, Rande Gerber.

He is the brand manager for the whole of Europe and on Thursday co-hosted the launch of Sam’s Riverside restaurant by Hammersmith Bridge in West London.

Jack claimed that the travel involved in his job means that he isn’t up to speed with the backlash facing his father-in-law over the duke’s friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

‘I’ve been in Poland this week so haven’t been following it,’ he told Richard Eden at the launch party.
