The talented actress, who was leading man Tom Cruise’s rumoured love interest last year, showed off her taut tummy in a velvet co-ord.

Stopping for a string of photos ahead of the film – which hit the big screen during Cannes Film Festival 24 hours earlier – the 40-year-old rocked her ab-flashing crop top and matching skirt.

The bottom half of her ensemble boasted a thigh-grazing slit and she elevated her frame with glittering gold heels.

Hayley opted for a chic hairstyle, whereby she gelled her brunette locks back into a tight bun.

Posing from behind presented the Marvel star with an opportunity to show off the backless style of her crop top.

It was reported in September that Tom had reportedly split from his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Hayley.

The couple – who had never expressly confirmed their romance but were said to have ‘grown close’ on the set of the film and were seen together at events such as Wimbledon last summer – were first reported to be an item in December 2020.

But the dalliance was said to have ‘run its course’ for Tom, 59 and his British co-star.

An insider told The Sun at the time: ‘It has been a very intense period of filming together. They really got on well – but as the latest film winds down they’ve decided to go back to being friends.

‘Their filming schedules are very full-on, and Tom has a number of other commitments coming up and is always shooting around by private helicopter and jet so it just ran its course.

‘But they’re still happy to work together. It’s a shame, but just one of those things. They still get on well.’

The sequel to Tony Scott’s classic 1986 blockbuster Top Gun has been unanimously praised in early reviews with one even declaring that it ‘improves upon the original in every conceivable way.’

Tom, who is famous for doing his own stunts, is said to have trained to withstand g-force power and actually flew in real fighter jets for the sequel.

Peter Hoskin for the Daily Mail gave the film five stars, writing: ‘Whenever the film threatens to become too cosy, it shocks itself – and us – back into the present with another madly ambitious action sequence.’

Tom underwent a full Aviation Survival Training Curriculum before going up in the US Navy F-18, as did his co-stars. They worked up to the supersonic jets by going up in a succession of slower planes first over many months.

Much has been made of Tom’s insistence on real flying scenes, with no CGI work. He has said in numerous interviews that he refused to even talk about a Top Gun sequel unless they flew in real planes.

Tom said: ‘For years, people had said, ‘Can’t you shoot [the movie] with CGI?’ And I always said, ‘No. That’s not the experience.’ I said, ‘I need to find the right story. And we’re going to need the right team. This movie is like trying to hit a bullet with a bullet. I’m not playing.’
