Heart surgeon Dr Nikki Stamp shares her entire beauty routine – and the lipstick she swears by

Heart surgeon Dr Nikki Stamp has shared her entire skin and beauty routine, as well as the lipstick she loves so much she buys two at a time.

The doctor from Perth said she favours ‘quick, easy but effective products’ that don’t irritate her sensitive skin, and wears sunscreen on a daily basis to delay the ageing process as much as possible.

‘If you could do only one thing for your skin now and in the future, using sunscreen would be it,’ Dr Stamp told Beauticate.

The doctor likes the Ultra Violette sunscreen range, as well as the IT Cosmetics CC cream, because they both have a high SPF but give her skin a flawless look that means she is able to do her day job without her makeup budging.

When it comes to her other skincare, Dr Stamp said she is a big fan of plastic surgeon Dr Anh Nguyen’s skincare range, especially the Purifying Active Cleanser and Luxe Hydrating Skin Cream.

‘I use these twice a day, and in the morning I add in the middle Nutri Day Serum and at night I use the Vital Refine Night Serum,’ she said.

‘A complicated, expensive routine will never be something I’ll be able to keep up!’

The heart surgeon admitted that most days when she is working, she wears minimal makeup, because when she is operating, she doesn’t want it to go all over the inside of her mask.

But there are a couple of non-negotiable products that she never goes without including the Hourglass holiday palettes and Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Superstar Lips ($49).

‘I am obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips, it’s the perfect shade and I tend to buy a couple at a time because if I ever lost it or ran out, I’d be pretty upset,’ Dr Stamp said.

She also loves Oribe’s Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil, which she uses to tame frizz and flyaway hairs before she goes into theatre.

What makes the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick so good?

* Polymers create a soft, silky-feeling film to enhance wear, imparting a luscious, shiny finish.

* Emollient Oil has brilliant spreading properties with a rich feel that leaves your lips with a heavy gloss.

* Waxes that add a soft, cushiony feel to your lips.

* Hyaluronic acid which is used to help hydrate skin due to its high water holding capacity.

* Peptides that help to maintain the youthful appearance of skin.

Previously, Dr Stamp shared the health advice you should follow, as well as what to avoid.

‘Set goals, but make them SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely) and put a plan in place (handstand push-ups are my goal),’ Dr Stamp said.

She also recommends you cook as much as possible at home and try to make a new dish each week, as well as upping your vegetables:

‘This doesn’t mean going full on veggie (unless you want to), but just increasing the amount of vegetables you eat is known to improve your physical health,’ Dr Stamp said.

A realistic aim is 5-7 servings of vegetables each day.

Finally, Dr Stamp said you should steer clear of fad diets and exercise programs that promise ‘magic results’.

‘The best exercise is one that you can do, you enjoy or you feel like you don’t suck at,’ Dr Stamp said.

‘Do that and leave the ones that promise you celebrity body parts.’
