This is the heartwarming moment a bus driver pulled over to save a six-year-old boy and his sister, two, after she spotted them wearing no jackets and with bare legs in frigid 18 degrees Fahrenheit weather in Wisconsin.

Nicole Chamberlain saw the two youngsters during her rounds at around 8am on Monday morning in Waukesha. Bitterly cold weather and wind chills made the temperature feel like just 3F there.

In the footage Chamberlain can be heard to exclaim ‘woah’ after spotting the youngsters, before pulling over her bus. She then approaches the kids, bringing them onto the vehicle, into the warm.

One passenger can be heard saying: ‘Those little kids are out without any clothes on.’

Security cameras show Nicole then wrap the two-year-old girl – wearing just her diaper and a top – with her own jacket. The little boy is wearing just a hoodie and pants.

She tells the children: ‘It’s OK, honey — we’re gonna figure it out. You’re nice and warm on the bus.’

Chamberlain told FOX6: ‘No one had a coat on. It was snowing, and it was windy, and these were tiny little kids.’

Speaking to Good Morning America Nicole said: ‘The little girl only had on a t-shirt and diaper and neither of them had a coat on.

‘They were headed toward a busy intersection and I knew there was no school bus stop down there, or school, so I knew right away I had to pull over and help them.’

She added: ‘They said, “We’re looking for grandma”. I said, “Come with me, I’m gonna put you on the warm bus and I’ll help you find grandma”.

‘They didn’t say why they left but they said they were going to find grandma.’

The children’s grandmother arrived in minutes. She told police – who are not pressing charges – that she had been in the basement of her home when the two wandered off to find her.

Chamberlain said she 'hopes that there would be somebody  who would stop and help my kids'

Chamberlain added: ‘If that were to happen to my children, I would hope that there would be somebody — a decent human being — that would stop and help my kids.

‘I’m just thrilled I was in the right place and right time, but even more thrilled the situation turned out to be even better than what you hear sometimes.

‘They went back, they were with a happy family. They were safe. That was most important to me.’
