A sweet video shows the heartwarming moment an elderly couple were reunited after spending four years apart in different care facilities.

‘I miss you,’ his wife says. ‘Missed me?’ the man responds. ‘I kind of did,’ his wife says jokingly.
‘Ya looking good honey,’ he tells his wife. She then tells him: ‘I’ve been waiting.’
According to the couple’s granddaughter, they are both 90 years old and have been married for 71 years.
‘When my father and mother moved in with them to help care for them (about 5 years ago), my mother became conservator over my grandmother and she was moved to a nursing home,’ the couple’s granddaughter wrote in a Reddit post.
‘At the same time, my father was battling his fight with cancer, to which he eventually lost,’ she added.
According to their granddaughter, her father would take his dad to see his wife every Sunday, but when he became too ill to do so, the visits stopped.
‘Since my father’s passing, my sisters and I, along with my oldest niece, stepped in and moved my grandfather to now live with family across the country, and we have been working since January to get grandma moved as well,’ she wrote.

She said that her grandparents were finally reunited over the weekend and ‘will be living in a great nursing home together now, with oversight of my eldest sister who works at the home as well’.
According to their granddaughter, her grandmother had been ‘neglected and forgotten about by someone who supposedly took over to care for her’.
‘Her teeth are missing, she had no shoes. We suspect abuse/neglect by the home she was in prior to us stepping in. Dehydration, bed sores, excessive bruising, pneumonia and a UTI,’ she wrote.
She also said that her grandfather suffers from dementia, but one thing ‘he knows for certain is his wife’.
‘He lights up when he speaks of her like it’s his first time with a crush. Now they can be together again and live the rest of their lives together and taken well care of, the way it should have been this whole time,’ their granddaughter added.
The husband and wife have not been identified, but their reunion took place in Oroville, California.
