An adorable lost puppy had to be dug out of a hole after getting stuck when burrowed 3ft down.

The fluffy Bangkeaw puppy went missing soon after it was born in Yasothon, north eastern Thailand, last week.

Its owner thought the dog had wandered off and enlisted a group of local boys, including her neighbour Sarawut Bunma, to help find it.

The group eventually heard a whimpering sound coming from underground after searching for the dog for several hours.

A video of the rescue mission showed one of the teenagers using a hoe to dig at the mud that encased the trapped puppy.  

Sarawut said: ‘My neighbour’s dog gave birth but one of the puppies disappeared. She thought it had walked away and was lost.

‘We started looking and after a few hours could hear noise coming from underground so we knew we found him.’

Eventually the puppy was freed and brought back to its mother and two siblings. 

Sarawut joked that it was the first time he had found a ‘puppy seed’ buried underground.

He added: ‘Perhaps a puppy tree could have grown. He is lucky we found him in time because there was no way for him to get out.’
