Thief carjacks a heavily pregnant woman’s Mercedes and drives off with her son, 10, and daughter, 8, still inside as she falls to the ground desperately trying to grab the door handle

A thief stole a heavily pregnant woman’s Mercedes-Benz on Saturday while her two children were still inside.   

The mother, who is nine-months along, was contacted by the man at 4.20pm after she posted an advertisement online for her 2014 black Mercedes A45 AMG.    

Following the conversation, she met two men in Greenacre, west of Sydney, and agreed to take one of them on a test drive, bringing along her son, 10, and daughter, eight, with her.

After a short time, the man asked to test-drive the vehicle and the woman agreed, stopping the car on Maiden Street.

As the woman walked around the car to get into the passenger seat, the man got into the driver’s seat, locked the doors and began to drive away.

The woman grabbed onto the door handle, but fell over as the car sped off with her two children still inside.

The car stopped about 300metres down the road and the man ordered the two children out of the car, before driving away.

The 34-year-old woman alerted police.

She was taken to Bankstown Hospital for minor cuts and abrasions to her legs.

Police would like to speak to two men who they believe can assist with investigations.

One man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, and 20-25 years old with a solid build and purple dyed hair in a bun.

He was wearing a grey jumper and dark pants.

The other man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, about 20 years old, and tall with a skinny build and patchy facial hair. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward and contact police. 

The black Mercedes A45 AMG, with NSW registration DZG31F, has yet to be located.
