Eamonn Holmes has fractured his shoulder following a nasty fall at his Surrey mansion, which has left him in an ‘an awful lot of pain’.
The presenter, 62, underwent spinal surgery just weeks ago to treat chronic pain in his back and legs but tumbled down the stairs shortly afterwards and then had to undergo another operation.
His representative told The Express: ‘He’s naturally gutted by the setback, but the good news is the surgery on his shoulder went well. He’s now receiving fantastic care and resting.

‘Sadly it means Eamonn is likely to need a longer period off TV than he first thought in order to get himself better and heal.
‘But despite being in an awful lot of pain, he’s remaining positive and is looking forward to doing what he loves most and being back on TV and presenting on GB News just as soon as he can.’
The spokesperson concluded that the TV personality is thankful for the NHS’s ‘wonderful care’ and is ‘determined’ to rest and get better.

Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were no where to be seen at the NTAs last month – because of his recent vital back surgery and her QVC schedule clash.
The married presenting duo, who used to host NTA winning show This Morning on a regular schedule, are normally firm attendees of the biggest night in TV.
But his recent health woes and her work with teleshopping channel QVC meant that the pair were not sat with their industry colleagues as they usually do on a star-studded night in London.

The Northern Irish presenter recently told his new channel GB News that he was operated on around two weeks ago, talking on 5 October: ‘It’s early days, it’ll probably be about three weeks before they know if it’s been a success or not.’
Ruth on the other hand shared her busy schedule to her Instagram stories, with one showing her travelling to and presenting at her fashion segment on the QVC teleshopping channel.
Eamonn – who suffers from shingles – was forced to take a step away from his show to prepare for the vital back surgery on 28 September.
The television personality said that he was ‘praying’ ahead of the operation which will relieve pressure on his static nerves.

The broadcaster has suffered from long-term difficulties, previously telling of his battle with chronic back pain after a dislocated pelvis led to three slipped discs.
He told The Express: ‘It’s an operation that carries a 20 per cent risk of going wrong, but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take.
‘In fact, it’s a risk I want to take because, at this moment in time, nothing could seem worse than the constant pain that runs through my lower back and legs.’
He said that he ‘prays that God will guide [his] surgeon’s hand this week’ to help him get back to the ‘man he used to be.’

He went on to reveal to the publication that the agony can be so intense that sleep is sometimes his own ‘escape’.
He added that someone can be surrounded by family and friends but that severe pain can feel like your companion.
Before saying that he hopes his recovery can offer hopes to those who can no longer deal with their depression at anger with chronic pain.
By missing the NTAs, the married couple missed out on seeing their former regular presenting gig This Morning bag a gong for the best daytime show.

The TV presenters were booed at the event when This Morning won the Best Daytime award, following allegations they had skipped the queue to see the Queen lying in state last month.
Holly departed the awards show – held at London’s OVO Arena Wembley – just before 10pm, more than half an hour before the ceremony finished.
The GB News presenter previously made his feelings about their ‘queue jumping’ known. He made no bones about the fact he didn’t believe his former colleagues and said they ‘messed up’.
Chatting with presenter Clare Muldoon, Eamonn said: ‘I’ll tell you what’s strategic. Why is Holly fighting to keep her job, according to The Sun, but Mr Phillip isn’t?
Clare replied: ‘Who knows? Twitter, last night, was saying she didn’t want to vacate her job at This Morning.
‘Who wouldn’t want to give up £600,000 a year and everything else that comes with it? I think the brand is very damaged. There has to be a change from the top down to the bottom on This Morning.’
Eamonn, who presents his new show with Isabel Webster on GB News, temporarily stepped down from his role as the co-presenter in June while after receiving hospital treatment due to his painful condition.

And joining the show on Wednesday via video from him home following his operation last week, Eamonn reflected on how he felt with Isabel, 39, having to assist him as he stumbled and struggled on his crutch during the presenting stint, telling her: ‘It was an issue for me’.
As they chatted through their coverage of the Queen’s death and subsequent funeral in September, Isabel reflected that they were ‘up against the crowds’, explaining: ‘There was a pack of around eight people wide, walking, all trying to see the royal procession and we were going against the crowd arm in arm, and it was a long walk.’
Praising his pal for helping him, Eamonn then said: ‘You’re one of my dearest friends in life Isabel, and you go above and beyond the call of duty.
‘I mean, there is such a beautiful heart with you. But I mean it was humiliating for me. You took me through that crowd. And I stumbled a few times, and my leg gave way a few times.
‘And after that I was a bit humiliated really. You didn’t make any issue of it, but it was an issue for me.’

Former This Morning host Eamonn left GB News viewers wondering where he was when he wasn’t on-screen, with the journalist taking to Twitter to clear things up, writing: ‘Many of you have been asking why I haven’t been presenting GB News.
‘Unfortunately, due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I’ve had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor’s orders by taking a short time off.
