A man from Maryville, Tennessee allegedly flipped his truck five times because ‘Jesus was calling him and advised him to let go of the wheel.’

According to police Chad O. England, 33, was arrested after he got out of the vehicle and attempted to run away, carrying a jar and ‘speaking gibberish.’ 

Deputies were notified about an accident on I-81 North in Sullivan County, Tennessee around 10 am on Sunday. 

When deputies searched the vehicle they found six grams of marijuana, 0.6 grams of cocaine, a pipe, rolling papers, a 3/4 empty bottle of Crown Royal, a small empty bottle of Crown Royal and several cans used for ‘huffing,’ according to the police report.

England faces multiple offences including drug and traffic charges. He was charged with driving under the influence, felony possession of Schedule II drugs for resale/manufacture/deliver, possession of Schedule VI drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Bristol Herald Courier.

Two witnesses confirmed the story as they said England was speeding down the highway and for no apparent reason he decided to leave the road on the right side.

Police reported England said that he did not take off running, but he was ‘being called and was traveling to bow before someone.’ He also stated he was not driving, but he was behind the wheel. He denied a blood draw, but was obviously under the influence of drugs, according to the incident report.

England told police he had closed his eyes and let go of the wheel because Jesus was calling him.

The police report states England said he ‘did not take off running, he was ‘being called and was traveling to bow before someone.’

Police also said that England had blood drawn at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He is currently being held at the Sullivan County jail.
