High School teacher accused of raping 13-year-old girl he met on Tinder

Chattahoochee High School teacher Preston Paris, 32, was arrested on Monday in Georgia for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl

A Georgia teacher has been arrested after he allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl he met on the dating app Tinder.

Chattahoochee High School social studies teacher Preston Paris, 32, was charged with statutory rape, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes on Monday.

Paris, who also served as the volleyball and assistant swim coach at the school, was arrested just before the start of class on Monday morning by Roswell and Cobb County police as the alleged crime spanned those two counties.

He was booked into Fulton County Jail without bond.

Police say Paris met the girl on Tinder then picked her up at her Cobb County home and took her to his apartment in Roswell, Georgia where various sexual acts occurred.

She was not a student at Chattahoochee High, where Paris worked for two years.

Cobb County launched their investigation on September 18 and contacted Roswell Police, which covers the district where Paris lives, last week.

‘They had the sexual encounter at the apartment. Warrants were taken,’ a Roswell Police Department spokesperson said to WSBTV.

Following the arrest Fulton County School District removed him from the school saying: ‘Given the allegations, he was immediately separated from our district.’

The arrest was a shock for students at Chattahoochee High who say Paris was well liked.

‘He seemed really chill, really nice,’ a senior at the school said.

Paris’ preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.

Cops are urging for other potential victims to come forward and contact Roswell police.
