While many women struggle to find the perfect mascara or the ultimate shade of red lip, wearing a headscarf can present a whole new set of problems.

And now hijabi beauty bloggers have revealed their best beauty hacks, covering everything from keeping their hijab or turban smudge-free, to matching it to your eyeshadow.

In a blog post shared on HudaBeauty.com, four influencers revealed their tried-and-tested techniques for overcoming common beauty bugbears caused by wearing a headscarf.

British blogger and Glamour columnist Hani Sidow shared her trick for avoiding getting foundation and powder on her hijab.

She explained: ‘I add a little bit of tissue under and over my headscarf before I go in with my powder to get rid of any oil that I’ve picked up during the day. 

‘Once I’m done, I remove the tissue from my hijab and I am good to go.’ 

While Samira Sheego, who has some 30,000 Instagram followers, said she often uses her hijab to make a stylish joker to match her eye makeup.

She said: ‘I love to wear a black hijab with very bold eye looks, seeing as black goes with every color on the spectrum.’

YouTuber Salima Aliani also offered her hot tips, stressing he importance of coordinating makeup looks to your hijab.

‘There are no real rules,’ she said. ‘But if you’re already wearing a lot of colors try to keep your makeup look more subtle with neutral eye shadows and a pretty pink lipstick.’

Aliani added: ‘If your outfit is quite simple and monochromatic, you can continue the theme with a beige turban, which looks gorgeous with a rich burgundy or plum lip.’
