Embittered hikers have complained Snowdon is ‘a bit steep’ and too ‘cloudy’ in bizarre reviews left on social media.
More than 582,000 walkers climb Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, each year to witness expansive and beautiful views of Britain from its peak.
But in a series of reviews left on TripAdvisor, those who climbed to the 3,560ft peak lamented the poor weather, the cold temperatures, and the ‘abysmal’ wheelchair access.
Others complained about the ‘terrible’ car parking facilities, and insisted they would rather go to the Lake District where ‘they know how to look after their tourists’.

Steven, from Leicester, rated his experience in the Snowdonia National Park as poor. He said: ‘We spent weeks researching the best route to take being we were novice climbers.
‘We spent weeks walking up hills in prep for it. We watched YouTube videos of people doing the chosen path, the Ranger Path, and all I can say is DON’T DO IT’.
Steven went on to describe his hike as ‘most terrifying experience of our lives’, writing that ‘the path is relentless starts straight away going up hill’.
He added: ‘The higher you go the worse the terrain become. You clamber, and I mean clamber over rocks, steps and jagged rocks. You cant walk more then 20 yards without stopping.
‘In our case it started out really sunny and by the time we got a quarter the way up the weather changed. It lashed it down, it hailed and there was wind of around 40 mph. It nearly blew us of our feet.

‘Be warned when I say don’t attempt it, we seriously did not think we would get of alive’.
Another visitor, from Portugal, warned that the hike is ‘not for the faint hearted’ and lamented the lack of toilets.
They added: ‘It’s not for the faint hearted. Also don’t expect to be able to use the loo as there are no trees bushes or rocks to hide behind and the toilets at the half way house were shut when we got there’.
In one bizarre review, a walker complained the the hill was ‘quite steep’ and could be improved with ‘concrete paths and maybe some toilets halfway up’.
The outlandish post went on to complain the ‘mobile reception is pretty poor’ and told others not to ‘rely on it for Facebook and Snapchat’.

Others on TripAdvisor said the trails were too ‘overcrowded’ and complained the ‘cloudy’ peak ruined views of Snowdonia.
‘Sadly the summit was hidden in cloud and the views very murky,’ said one. ‘There were clouds of flies at the very top. Not a good look! All in all a bit disappointed’.
But of the 2,520 reviews left of the National Park on TripAdvisor, some 82 per cent rated the experience ‘excellent’.
On the Visit Snowdonia website, it warns the ‘terrain is challenging at the best of times’ and asks visitors to check their equipment before embarking on their walk.
The site also warns the trail can be ‘hard work’, the weather ‘unpredictable’ and advises ‘temperatures can plummet high up in the peaks’.
Hikers can chose from six different paths to reach the peak of the impressive mountain, which is second only to Ben Nevis in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands.
