Hillary and Bill Clinton visit their grandkids in NYC

The Clintons paid a visit to their grandchildren on Wednesday, with both Bill and Hillary photographed arriving at their daughter Chelsea’s swank apartment building in New York City.

Hillary was was the first to turn up in her Scooby Van at 5:20pm, with Bill arriving a short time later at 5:25pm.

The couple then spent 45 minutes inside with granddaughter Charlotte, grandson Aiden and presumably their son-in-law Marc Mezvinsky before heading back out.

Bill and Hillary did not exit together after their time inside the $10.5 million apartment, and once again got into separate vehicles.

The separate vehicles were likely due to their schedules, with Hillary having spoken at the Shared Value Leadership Summit just prior to arriving on Wednesday.

That event was held in Battery Park at The Conrad Hotel, a few miles downtown from daughter Chelsea’s pad.

Bill, who looked incredibly animated and happy, had been spotted uptown just prior to the visit, with a staffer at Showtime snapping a pic of Bill outside their office building.

Chelsea meanwhile was delivering a speech at Unchained At Last, an organization that is committed to ending forced and arranged marriages.

She shared an image of herself speaking to an audience at Case & White, a law firm in midtown Manhattan.

Hillary meanwhile spent the afternoon talking about the 2016 presidential race once again, with the Democratic hopeful asked if she believed identifying herself as a capitalist cost her the election.

‘Probably. I mean, you know, it’s hard to know but if you’re in the Iowa caucuses and 41% of Democrats are socialists or self-described socialists and I’m asked if you’re a capitalist and I say, “Yes, but with appropriate regulation and appropriate accountability,” that probably gets lost in the, “Oh, my God, she’s a capitalist!”‘ said Hillary.

She also spoke about how CEOs and executives were becoming more socially conscious in the internet era.

I think part of it is a very  strong movement that has gotten stronger since the election really by people who are using their energy to you know speak up and make their point,’ said Clinton.

She went on to state: ‘I think part of it is that there truly are a lot of pressures now on CEOs that weren’t there one of the advantages of an online world is that people can highly organized quickly to make their views known.

‘And most companies follow social media pretty closely because you know one bad review one hit on a product can have ramifications far beyond anything that was possible ten years ago.’

Among the examples of companies she cited were Starbucks with their recent racial incident in Philadelphia and the subsequent decision to close shops for training and Dick’s Sporting Goods banning gun sales.

‘So there there are many forces at work but I also think on some of these issues the CEOs themselves are among the many millions of Americans who have evolved and understood a broader definition of you know human rights, civil rights, women’s rights, gay rights,’ said Hillary.

‘The kinds of issues that are very much in the atmosphere so the interesting thing about that is at the same moment that you have more and more companies joining groups like the shared value initiative you have leaders feeling a need to project that they’re doing good in the world.’
