Hillary Clinton became the first senior U.S. political figure to address the spree of bomb threats to a host of U.S. political figures, calling it a time of ‘deep divisions.’
She spoke Secret Service agents revealed on Wednesday they had intercepted two suspicious packages en route to Hillary and Bill Clinton’s property in Chappaqua, New York.
‘It is a troubling time, isn’t it?,’ Clinton said, speaking at a campaign rally in Florida, where she is seeking to boost former Clinton cabinet secretary Donna Shalala at a fundraiser.
‘Clinton continued: ‘And it’s a time of deep divisions, and we have to do everything we can to bring our country together.’

Then Clinton, who battled President Trump during a brutal campaign contest in 2016, shifted to politics. ‘We also have to elect candidates who will try to do the same, who will set goals that will lift up every single Floridian and American,’ she said.
Clinton continued: ‘Usually when people ask me how am I doing .. I say as a person I’m doing great, as an American I’m worried.’
She added: ‘I worry about the direction of our country.’
She spoke days after former aide Phillipe Reines said the chance of Clinton running again in 2020 is ‘not zero.’
She spoke after reports that yet another suspicious package was identified addressed to a Florida office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the former chair of the Democratic National Committee.
Law enforcement revealed agents also intercepted packages en route to former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s Washington D.C. home. Others getting packages include former CIA chief and fierce Trump critic John Brennan and former Obama attorney general Eric Holder.
The Secret Service said packages sent to Clinton and Obama were immediately identified as potential explosive devices and were handled as such. They said the packages were intercepted prior to being delivered to Clinton and Obama.
Other politicians picked up on a similar line in the hours that followed.

‘We’ve been through many political seasons and we have political differences,’ said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at a press conference in New York following the evacuation of CNN’s headquarters following a bomb threat.
‘And that’s actually good for democracy. what is not good is overheated rhetoric, extremism that pushes people to violence,’ Cuomo said, responding to a question about President Trump’s statement approving of a congressman who assaulted a reporters.
‘There’s a pattern apparently to the number of devices,’ said Cuomo. ‘A device has been sent to my office in Manhattan,’ he said.
Cuomo called them ‘an attempt to strike fear – terrorism.’
