The pair met in 2016 when Jack, now 36, was ‘treated’ by Camilla who plays Dr Zosia March.

She left the show – with Dr March disappearing off to the USA – but then returned – with a new, off-screen husband.

Casually dropping into conversation that she and Jack tied the knot, Camilla told The Sun: ‘It’s nice to be back for a couple of months. I love it on Holby.

‘I wanted to try something else. And we also got married. It was a low-key ceremony in London but it was really lovely. It was great.’

Jack plays dentist Christopher Dockerill in Call The Midwife and dates Trixie [Helen George] on the series.

Camilla’s Holby character made a comeback, pregnant – having been last seen leaving her husband in the UK.

‘Viewers won’t know who the father is but a handsome American doctor also turns up. Everyone thinks it’s his child,’ it was teased by the actor.

The return of Dr March came after her stint on the show thus far has tackled the character’s struggle with bipolar disorder.

In the show, she became an excessive drinker and took drugs – and the story line explored the stigma attached to the illness and treatment involving lithium. This, in turn, was praised by mental health charities and organisations.

The actress announced last September that she was reprising the role – but it is said to only be for a limited time as a guest star.

Executive Producer Simon Harper said that the character was returning because of ‘popular demand’.
