Holly Willoughby blames Celebrity Juice fall on her VERY competitive nature

She suffered a tumble as she wrestled with her co-stars during Celebrity Juice’s final ever episode, which aired on Thursday night.

And during Friday’s instalment of This Morning, Holly Willoughby, 41, declared that she ‘hadn’t had a drink,’ as she explained the incident, and insisted she was ‘weirdly fine’ following the fall.

The TV presenter revealed that she has been so intent on winning the last ever show that she was more focused on snatching a piece of cardboard from Fearne Cotton, 41, than on where her feet were going.

What happened? During Friday’s This Morning, Holly Willoughby insisted that she was sober during the Celebrity Juice final and fell down ‘steep’ stairs due to her very competitive nature

Holly was an original team captain on Celebrity Juice alongside Fearne Cotton, and the pair returned for a one-off episode as the show ends after a 14-year run.

She ended up tumbling down a flight of stairs as she became very competitive during a tense game to collect pieces of cardboard on the ITV comedy panel show.

Holly explained that it was simply because she was so determined to win the final ever show, that she ended up taking the tumble down the ‘steep’ studio steps.

Recalling the moment to her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly insisted: ‘I’m all in one piece, absolutely fine, and also completely sober.

Recalling how she had snatched the cardboard, she told Phil:  ‘I was not gonna let go. even if it meant throwing myself down the stairs backwards, which is what happened.’

After playing the clip on This Morning, Holly again insisted: ‘Weirdly I was fine and I hadn’t had a drink.’

For Celebrity Juice: The Happy Ending, Holly was joined by Fearne and guests Joe Swash, Chris Ramsey and Joey Essex as they all took part in a tense challenge as host Keith Lemon watched on.

The stars were all seen running through the audience in a bid to collect pieces of cardboard as part of a competitive game.

Joe was heard screaming in delight as he secured one piece of cardboard, while Fearne was seen grabbing another from Joey Essex and chasing Joe down the stairs.

TOWIE’s Joey then took a stumble down the stairs as a determined Holly began wrestling with Fearne, stealing the piece of cardboard from her.

Holly then immediately turned around and tries to sprint back to the stage as Ferne told her co-star Chris to ‘go, go, go’ during the tense race.

But as a very competitive Holly grabbed hold of the back of Chris’ T-shirt in a bid to slow him down, she was pulled headfirst down the flight of stairs.

It comes after host Keith Lemon admitted he became ’emotional’ when filming the final ever episode of Celebrity Juice as the show came to an end after 26 series.

The comedian, who hosted the long-running comedy series, admitted he felt ‘sad’ about the show ending and became ’emotional’ when filming the last episode.

Keith, whose real name is Leigh Francis, said: ‘It’s been 14 years of me life. Maya Jama, who’s on the last episode told me she started watching it when she was seven.

‘Not sure what a seven-year-old is doing watching Juice, she should’ve been in bed! But yeah that made me feel old.

‘I guess when I look back I’ll think aye, that was a big part of me life. It’s rare to do a show for that long, but by eck it was fun! The best times! I do feel a bit sad but it’s also exciting to see what happens next!’

Reflecting on saying goodbye to the show, Keith admitted he ‘teared up’ and hugged his wife Jill Carter when he came off stage after they wrapped up filming.

‘I got a bit emotional at the end. I don’t think that bit is in. I was in like some kind of emotional bubble,’ he continued.

‘It was a bit like a dream, but I was trying to cherish the day. I came off stage and just hugged my wife and teared up. It’s making me tear up now just thinking about it.’

Keith described filming the final episode with guests from over the years as a ‘great party’, teasing that there will be a few surprise appearances in the special.

A compilation episode, Celebrity Juice: The Last Hurrah, will air on Thursday December 15 at 10pm on ITV2.
