Holly Willoughby loses it over a MAFS Australia twist as she chats to ‘expert’ Mel Schilling

The new season of Married At First Sight Australia is set to premiere in the UK this week, after past seasons have been a hit with British fans.

And on Monday, British TV presenter Holly Willoughby, 42, couldn’t contain her excitement as she spoke to relationship ‘expert’ Mel Schilling about the latest season of the show.

Mel appeared on ITV’s This Morning where she teased a dramatic twist in the very first wedding seen on the current series, which intrigued Holly.

‘I don’t want you to tell me, but is it, what is it?… I want to know what it is! I really want to know,’ Holly said to Mel.

Mel teased: ‘Literally the first nine seconds will change the course of the experiment, it’s so out of the blue, it hasn’t happened before.’

Holly tried to guess the answer ahead of the premiere, excitedly saying: ‘Is someone already married? Someone had an affair at the wedding? Someone went with the bridesmaid?’

Australian viewers were left shocked during the premiere of season 10 back in January when a guest confronted a bride with dirt about her groom just minutes after tying the knot.

Bronte Schofield’s nuptials turned into disaster after guest Jessica Tomlinson told the online beauty educator, 29, that she recognised her husband Harrison Boon, and that he dated her friend just days before their wedding.

‘I need to tell you something,’ she told Bronte after pulling her aside from wedding guests.

‘I have a friend that is from Sydney,’ Jess explained.

‘She told me about this guy that’s going to go on MAFS and that she has been dating for the last month and a half… It’s him, it’s Harrison.’

Jess then explained that Harrison told her friend that he wanted to be with her once he finished the experiment – and he was planning on spending each weekend with her.

‘No, no, you’re f**king lying,’ a speechless Bronte replied.

‘I have a picture on my phone… That’s him,’ Jessica added.

After Bronte managed to compose herself, she walked over to confront Harrison about Jessica’s wild claims.

‘I need to do this now. Like I need to, can I just go do this now?’ she said.

After initially playing down Jessica’s claims, Harrison then admitted that he had been talking to several different girls.

‘I was seeing a number of girls before I came into this,’ he began.

‘I’m a single guy in Sydney and I didn’t know if [the show] was gonna last a week, a month, the entire experiment…

‘But I’m not in a relationship with anyone. They’re just people that I was seeing.’

‘I told her that I was giving this a hundred percent and it wouldn’t be right for us to continue.’

Daily Mail Australia revealed the ‘other woman’ in question is 21-year-old Abby Miller, who starred on this year’s season of The Bachelors.

Abby shared a pouty selfie on Instagram just hours after the MAFS premiere aired, captioning the post with a ‘tea’ emoji.

However, sources close to Harrison said the whole thing has been ‘blown out of proportion’, with Abby just one of many women he was chatting to on dating apps in the lead-up to filming MAFS last year.

‘Jess wanted her five minutes of fame and exaggerated the nature of Harrison’s relationship with Abby just to get time in front of the camera,’ a source told Daily Mail Australia.

This week meanwhile, Bronte was slammed by fans of Married At First Sight for blindly defending her controversial husband Harrison.

Some viewers have even accused the couple of ‘faking’ their relationship in order to stay in the experiment.

‘We all know Bronte and Harrison have definitely playing the game to extend their 15 minutes,’ tweeted one.

‘Harrison and Bronte cannot be for real. The fact they think Australia is believing any of their s**t. They’re clowns,’ another added.

‘Bronte is gross agreeing with Harrison’s disgusting gaslighting comments,’ said a third.

Bronte was left in tears after her co-stars accused Harrison of ’emotionally manipulating’ her on Monday’s episode.

The brunette, 28, was embroiled in tense scenes at the NSW Southern Highlands retreat, where Claire Nomarhas gave her a stern warning.

Claire accused Harrison of trying to ’emotionally manipulate’ his wife, which prompted Bronte to hit back, saying the other brides were just jealous.

‘Not once has Harrison tired to manipulate me. Harrison doesn’t control me,’ Bronte said defiantly, as the other brides spoke to her.

‘I am a grown-a** woman and I have my own opinions. The reason they are trying to turn on my relationship is because they are jealous,’ she added.
