Hollyoaks fans in floods of tears as Maggie Kinsella dies

She had been battling cancer and had been planning to enlist the help of her son Scott to help her take her own life.

But despite Maggie Kinsella deciding against euthanasia, Hollyoaks fans were not spared any heartache, as she later passed away, albeit peacefully, in emotional scenes that aired on the Channel 4 soap on Thursday.

Maggie – played by Michelle Homes – was seen carrying out things on her bucket list with her two sons Damon and Scott Drinkwell, and their friend Brody Hudson, but her evening ended in her sadly losing her life – much to the heartbreak of fans.

Heartbreak: Hollyoaks fans were left in floods of tears as Maggie Kinsella passed away following her battle with cancer in the company of sons Damon and Scott Drinkwell, and Brody Hudson, on Thursday night

Terminally ill Maggie had been planning on taking her own life, with the help of son Scott (played by Ross Adams), as she struggled to overcome her battle with cancer in hospital.

He had agreed to do so and provide his mother with the pills needed – only upsetting his brother Damon (Jacob Roberts) who had headed to the police station to report his loved ones.

Stopped just in time by his best pal Brody (Adam Woodward), Damon decided against going to the police as Maggie realised the extent of what she was asking Scott to do for her and broke down, insisting she had changed her mind and didn’t want to go through with the planned euthanasia.

Making amends with her children, Maggie was then given some time away from the hospital to spend with her boys, where she decided to tick off a number of things she had penned on her bucket list – including leaving a restaurant without paying.

But it was her desire to have a private audition with Van Morrison that led to viewers at home breaking down in tears at the scenes that played out in front of them.

Damon, Scott and Brody decided to sing Maggie a rendition of Brown Eyed Girl to fulfill her wish, with the character peacefully passing away during their performance.
