A savvy home baker has revealed how she made delicious doughnuts using only two ingredients.

While other doughnut recipes consist of multiple ingredients including as eggs, milk and butter, the woman only used three cups of self raising flour and 1.5 cups of plain Greek yoghurt to make her treats.

The home baker shared the recipe to the Budget Friendly Meals Australia Facebook group where it quickly captured the attention of hundreds of other aspiring home cooks.

‘Can’t taste the yoghurt, came out super fluffy and not dense at all,’ she said online.

A savvy home baker has revealed how she made several delicious cinnamon doughnuts using only two ingredients – self raising flour and yoghurt

The flour and yoghurt form a sticky dough which the woman kneaded well until it was smooth then started to form the circular shape of each doughnut.

She then dropped the raw doughnuts into a pot full of hot vegetable oil, then covered every one in cinnamon and sugar; she encouraged bakers to use whatever ingredients they liked to top them.

‘I used a glass to cut the circles and a shot glass to take the middle out! I guess you could even cook the doughnut centres and make doughnut holes [too],’ she said.

On Facebook others were impressed at how fluffy the doughnuts turned out, while some asked a few questions.

‘We [made] some gluten free ones – yummo,’ one woman said.

‘I wonder if these would work in the air fryer!’ another asked

‘Silly question, could you leave them full, no hole, and make them into jam doughnuts?’ one woman asked, to which the home cook replied: ‘Yep! I [made] two full ones and then filled them with Nutella.’

Others also wondered if the doughnuts could be made with coconut yoghurt instead, which would most likely work.
