Home where accountant bludgeoned his wife to death as she mouthed ‘I love you’ sells for $610,000

A home where a mother was brutally bludgeoned to death by her husband and then buried in the backyard has been sold.

The body of Fahima Yusuf, 32, was found buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of the Perth property in 2017.

It was later discovered that her accountant husband Ahmed Dawood Seedat, 37, had killed her while their children slept.

However, despite the grisly history, one buyer was willing to pay $610,000 for the property.

Agents were legally obliged to tell prospective buyers about the history of the home, selling agent

Selling agents were legally obliged to tell prospective buyers about the history of the home,      Jared Rayner, from Pulse Property, said

The four bedroom, two bathroom home was auctioned off in December 2018.

And while some buyers had been ‘put off’ by its past, others saw potential, Jared Rayner, from Pulse Property, previously told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Under the term, we do have to display the contract, which we have done during the campaign, and obviously that does disclose the material facts,’ he said.

‘But every buyer that has come through I’ve told them straight-out. I mean, it’s common knowledge.’

The property was marketed as a ‘family home’, boasting a large theatre room, ‘perfect to watch the big game or a Hollywood blockbuster’.

The property was sold for $865,000 in 2014, however, a reserve price was not set this time around, Mr Rayner said.

Seedat pleaded guilty to murdering his wife and was sentenced to at least 23 years behind bars last month.

During sentencing, the court heard how Seedat had struck his wife of eight years with a wheel brace as she slept inside the home.

Ms Yusuf had woken up after the first blow but he overpowered her and continued his attack.

Seedat then choked or suffocated Ms Yusuf and buried her in a hole that had been made by a contractor who was told it was to install a pool for his children, aged two and five.

Her final words were: ‘I love you’.

The court heard how Seedat had planned the murder of Ms Yusuf, originally from Bolton in the UK, for weeks.

He had earlier searched online for chilling terms such as ‘cremating a body’, ‘best place to knock someone out’ and burying someone alive.

Seedat had intended to try to pursue a relationship with his sister-in-law, who he described as his best friend, but she viewed him as a brother.

Seedat had also searched online: ‘Can you marry your brother-in-law if your sister is dead muslim?’

Seedat is separately facing fraud charges, with allegations he stole $5.7 million.
