Wild West Britain: Horrifying moment gunman opens fire in a quiet suburban street before gang speed away in two cars

  • West Midlands Police probing incident Facebook users claim is in Birmingham
  • Terrified resident screams as gunman chases three rivals down the street
  • He appears to shoot at them and two vehicles almost crash as they flee him

A gunman has been filmed firing at rivals on a suburban cul-de-sac sparking chaotic scenes where two cars almost crashed trying to flee the shootout.

A resident of the street, named on Facebook as being in Ward End, Birmingham, screams as she films the terrifying clash between gangs from her window.

The clip starts with a series of bangs that sound like gunfire before a man wearing a black cap chases after three men, who clamber into a silver car as he shoots at them multiple times.

The silver car then makes a quick getaway followed closely behind by another silver vehicle, believed to be a Mercedes, which the gunman also fires at.

The Mercedes smashes hard into the kerb at high speed as the driver tries to get away, and appears to damage its tyres and suspension.

Some have claimed the street fight is linked to a drugs turf war in the city and West Midlands Police is today appealing for witnesses.

West Midlands Police has said it was not aware of the incident and is investigating the exact time and location, as well as what type of weapon was fired.

A spokesman told MailOnline: ‘We have no reports of any similar incidents in the area over the past few days. If anyone does have information, we would urge them to get in touch with us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, or call 101’.

The woman who filmed the incident shouts repeatedly: ‘He’s got a shotgun’ – but the shooter appears to be a shotgun with some viewers questioning whether it could be an air weapon.

Video of the incident was uploaded to Imran Hameed’s Facebook page in the early hours of this morning.

The post was captioned: ‘Birmingham #Shooting – Ward End – apparently this video is from today, looks like an Altercation and a man opens fire at two cars.’

The altercation apparently took place yesterday in what appears to be a residential area of the city.

In the video, shouting can be heard as three men begin to flee the area carrying a bag. They are pursued by another man on foot brandishing a gun.

A woman can be heard in the background saying: ‘Go away woman, stupid b****, they’re going to kill him.’

She can then be heard exclaiming: ‘He’s got a shotgun.’

As the men make their escape into a waiting car, a series of shots can be heard as the gunman runs after them, pointing the gun at the side of the vehicle.

A bystander in a wheelchair just manages to avoid being hit as the car speeds away, followed by another vehicle which veers onto the kerb.

As the second car speeds round the corner, two men on the pavement can be seen trying to open the back door of the moving vehicle.

The video was shared on Facebook earlier this morning.

Graham Sykes posted: ‘Just more scum bag pond life going about their daily rituals of destroying life and ruining community life.

‘Congratulations you pieces of s*** for causing havoc in a residential area, shame on you, bet your parents are really proud of you.’

Social media users were quick to point out that weapon does not appear to be a shotgun, with many speculating on the type of weapon used.

One user, Raaes Khan says, ‘Ain’t a shotgun it is a 9mm’. Another, Joshua James Bass, suggests ‘It’s a .177 gas pistol’.
