A bus driving instructor has been killed after being hit by a bus during a training exercise.
The 45-year-old man was hit as the bus careered through a fence in the car park at Fairfield Showground in Sydney’s west at about 10am on Thursday.
He died at the scene having suffered critical head injuries.

The bus driver was taken to hospital for mandatory tests, following the crash.
Another man was treated for shock before being taken to hospital.
‘They were training drivers here, there were about ten in each group and two buses,’ truck serviceman Ted Smith told the Sydney Morning Herald.
‘I didn’t see it actually happen, I just heard the noise … the crash.
‘It wouldn’t have been five minutes and the police were here, seven car loads of them, two ambulances and they took a bloke away.’
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigations Unit will begin their full investigation as many of the incident details are still unknown
