A win for the ages from Tiger Woods but also some common sense from the organisers.
Moving the tee-times forward on day four to ensure bad weather did not push everything over into the Monday was an inconvenience for the players but it put the paying public and television audience first. Other sports should take note. Cricket for one.
SEAN DYCHE
Of Burnley’s opening 26 competitive games this season, they won precisely three. Since then, Dyche’s team have won eight and drawn three of 15 Premier League games and are all but safe for another season.
Such a recovery is further proof that the Dyche model of management does work. How long, though, until we get to see him try it somewhere else?

The young Welshman made his Super League debut for St Helens as he scored in a defeat by Wigan two Easters ago. Now Saints are an awful lot better and so is their 22-year-old winger. His hat-trick on Friday at the DW Stadium helped illustrate the yawning gap between the two great rivals.

The veteran has done well to put Cardiff in touch with the pack at the bottom of the Premier League but there is a growing feeling the club may part company with the 70-year-old at the end of the season, whatever happens. Some relationships are not built to last.

The Brighton manager has problems after his team were beaten by Cardiff in midweek. Since an early win over Manchester United, Brighton’s season has been built around the ability to take points off clubs at their own level.
Four of their nine wins have come against Huddersfield and Crystal Palace, for example, while Newcastle and West Ham have also been beaten. The worry is that three of their last five games are against Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City.
