Hotel Zed in Canada will reward couples with freebie for having sex during Valentine’s Day stay

Hotel chain offers free stays for 18 years to couples who check in on Valentine’s Day and have a baby nine months later (and guests can book for up to four hours)

  • The promotion is being run by Hotel Zed, which has two properties in Canada
  • Rather than spending the night, couples can also book in for a four-hour stay
  • The hotel chain says: ‘Let’s be real, Valentine’s Day was made for getting lucky’

A hotel chain is offering a free stay each Valentine’s Day for 18 years to couples who check in this February 14 – so long as they welcome a baby nine months later.

Hotel Zed, which has properties in Kelowna and Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, is running the quirky promotion, which it calls a ‘Valentine’s Day Nooner’.

And couples don’t even need to stay overnight to take part. They can book for up to four hours and still qualify.

This package can be taken between 10am and 2pm.

The chain says: ‘Let’s be real, Valentine’s Day was made for getting lucky (at least that’s the way Hotel Zed sees it).

‘So, we are rewarding bedroom-active couples for doing what the hotel room was made for.

‘To add more heat to the already perfect Valentine’s Day gift, if a couple has a baby nine months after a Nooner check-in, they will get a free stay every Valentine’s Day for the next 18 years at any Hotel Zed location.’

Hotel Zed says it welcomes all couples to enjoy the package, regardless of gender expression, gender identity or sexual orientation, adding it ‘knows the stork can arrive in any number of ways’.

It explains: ‘As long as a new child has been welcomed into the family nine months after a Valentine’s Day 2020 check-in, they can count on 18 more years of getting down in K-town (Kelowna), Victoria or soon Tofino, for a free stay on February 14.’

Mandy Farmer, president and CEO of Hotel Zed, said: ‘I never want to get a lame Valentine’s gift.

‘We created the Nooner to offer a Valentine’s Day to remember.

‘With the added possibility of a free stay for the next 18 years, a romantic Valentine’s night on us might become a new annual tradition for lucky couples this year.

‘It definitely beats a stale box of chocolate or another flower bouquet!’

All rooms at Hotel Zed properties come with comic books and retro-chic amenities like vinyl listening stations, typewriter stations, board games and rotary dial phones.

Four-hour Nooners start from 59 Canadian dollars (£34/$45) in both hotels. An overnight Nooner starts from $89 (£51/$67) in the Kelowna hotel and from $129 (£74/$98) in the Victoria property.
