Zara Pannu has a lot of confidence for a girl just old enough to go to primary school.
The Western Australia-based youngster was scouted by an agent through Instagram – a platform her mother only started posting on six months ago – and was asked to compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCPA) held in America.
And she’s only five years old.

Zara’s mother Shivani Seth said she made a profile for her daughter just for fun, posting snaps of the mini photo shoots they’d hold after school most days.
‘I was always pushed by my family to create a separate social media profile for her because they loved clicking on her pictures,’ she told FEMAIL.
Before long brands were sending Zara outfits to model and she was being recognised in local shopping centres, quickly gaining a few thousand followers on the platform.

One of those fans taking note was a talent scout who wanted her to walk in a makeshift catwalk at WCPA.

Flying to Los Angeles for the event, Zara strutted her stuff like the Hadid’s of the modelling world – earning herself a gold trophy for ‘champion of the world’ in her age division.
She also received a gold medal for ‘junior model in casual wear’ and a bronze medal for ‘junior model in formal wear’.

Shivani said she didn’t know what to expect from the competition because Zara had never walked on a catwalk before, but the tiny tot wasn’t the least bit nervous.
Despite being the youngest competitor there of 70 entrants, Shivani said she’s never come across anyone with concerns because of her age.
‘There is definitely a demand for this and she is not the first child to get into this industry,’ she said.
Despite being too young to know whether this is a career she’d ever want to pursue, Shivani said she’s happy for her daughter to ‘follow her heart’.
