How Meghan Markle supported friend Misha Nonoo by wearing her label’s £174 ‘husband’ shirt

The Duchess of Sussex supported close friend Misha Nonoo by wearing a shirt from her brand on her final engagements in the UK. 

Meghan Markle, 38, sported the £174 ‘husband’ shirt to visit her patronages the National Theatre and Mayhew animal welfare charity, both in London, on 8 January – hours before she and Prince Harry, 35, announced they were stepping down.

The duchess, who knows designer Misha from her pre-royal days, wore the pinstripe blue shirt under a £269 navy Massimo Dutti coat and accessorised with her favourite Suetables horoscope necklaces.

Meghan wore the signature ‘husband’ shirt in the white and blue pinstripe style, as seen on the Misha Nonoo website. The style is available in several colourways 

Meghan made private visits to Mayhew and the National Theatre shortly before boarding a flight to Canada, where she was reunited with son Archie. 

She was seen at the National Theatre on the day of the visit but details of the Mayhew outing only emerged yesterday when photos were shared on the Sussex Royal Instagram account. 

The royal has frequently used her status as a high-profile style icon to shine a light on Misha and her brand. 

Meghan wore the ‘husband’ shirt in white for her first official outing with Prince Harry in September 2017 and chose to wear a skirt from the label when she launched her first solo charity endeavour, the Together cookbook, in September 2018.

She also enlisted Misha as one of her brand partners for the Smart Works charity clothing collection, which was unveiled in collaboration with John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Jigsaw, in September last year.  

Misha and Meghan were last seen together at Misha’s wedding to oil tycoon Mikey Hess in Rome in September last year. Misha has since announced that she is pregnant.  

It is possible the pair could soon reunite in Canada as the Misha Nonoo label announced it is going on a ‘styling tour’ and Toronto is the first stop.

The Sussexes have been staying in a multi-million dollar property on Vancouver Island since before Christmas.  

Prince Harry only returned to Canada this week after remaining in the UK to thrash out the terms of their departure.  

In their new roles, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will no longer represent the Queen but will be able to continue their private patronages and associations.
