Raised in South Africa and kept largely out of the limelight, the Spencer sisters have recently begun to make a name for themselves through an increasing number of public appearances.
Renowned for their polished aesthetic, Lady Kitty, 33, and her twin sisters Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, 32, consistently captivate with their coordinated outfits, blending elegance with modern flair.
Style clearly runs in the family, as Princess Diana’s three nieces grace the cover of Tatler’s March issue.
The shoot took place in December, shortly after the sisters attended the British Fashion Awards. At the event, the twins notably wore black dresses reminiscent of their aunt Diana’s iconic ‘revenge dress’.
Just two months prior, the trio captivated in matching silver ensembles at the Centrepoint Awards. Kitty, a longtime ambassador for the homeless charity, has worked alongside its patron, her cousin Prince William, for eight years.
Now, the Spencer sisters are writing a new chapter for their family’s legacy in both fashion and philanthropy.
From Royal Ascot and Wimbledon to the Cartier Polo and the Chelsea Flower Show, Spencer glamour has become a fixture at high-profile events.

Born at St Mary’s Hospital in London, the Spencer sisters and their younger brother, Louis, relocated to Constantia, South Africa, in 1995 to escape the intense media focus surrounding their family name.
Despite their parents’ divorce in 1997, the children enjoyed a happy upbringing with their mother in one of Cape Town’s oldest and most exclusive suburbs.
They often went on camping trips to the Cederberg mountains, where they embraced the natural surroundings, completely off-grid and without electricity.
With their father back at the family’s ancestral home, Althorp, the siblings also spent many visits there creating cherished memories.
‘It is a truly special and beautiful place,’ Eliza previously told Tatler. ‘Having spent the first three years of our lives at Althorp, exploring and discovering it as children, and being part of a long heritage of Spencers that have lived there, it has always felt like another home.’
The estate has been in the Spencer family for more than five centuries. Althorp House dates back to 1688, although a smaller property stood on the site prior to that.
It was the childhood home of Princess Diana, whose father inherited the estate when she was 14. She is buried within its grounds on a small, tree-covered island on the Round Oval lake.
In an interview with Hello!, Eliza and Amelia revealed they have ‘precious memories’ of their late aunt, who remains close to their hearts.
Eliza, who is one minute older than her identical twin, said: ‘Sadly we were very young when she passed away, we were only five.
‘Of course, I would have loved to have been able to spend more time with her. I do have some special memories of her.’
And speaking to Tatler, she admitted neither of them had any idea of Diana’s impact on the world until years after her death.
‘We always just knew her as our aunt,’ she explained, adding that she remembers her as ‘incredibly warm, maternal and loving’.
She continued: ‘She always made an effort to connect with us as children and had a talent for reading children’s hearts.’
Kitty, Eliza, Amelia and Louis have two half-sisters and a half-brother from their father’s second and third marriages, and a half-brother from their mother’s second marriage.

Later, in 2018, Kitty attended Prince Harry’s wedding with her mother, sister Amelia and brother Louis, who joined her arm-in-arm in a morning coat as they arrived at Windsor Castle.
By then, Kitty was already living in London and had established herself as a notable figure in high society.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, she pursued modelling, signing with Storm Model Management almost a decade ago.
Her career highlights include walking the runway for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017, becoming a global ambassador for the fashion house in 2021, and her appointment as Bulgari’s ambassador in 2018.
In 2021, Eliza and Amelia relocated to London, following Kitty into the modelling world after signing with Storm.
The twins quickly became familiar faces, appearing in magazine features and attending international fashion shows. They made their first catwalk appearance at the Josh Birch Jones autumn 2023 presentation during London Fashion Week.
Before embarking on a full-time modelling career, Amelia worked as a wedding planner while Eliza studied interior design.
Both women are ambassadors for the Little Princess Trust, a charity providing wigs for children with cancer, and represent the British fine-jewellery brand Boodles.
As children, Eliza and Amelia were frequently dressed alike – a tradition that still rings true today.
‘We are each other’s other halves,’ Amelia told the National Association of Jewellers in 2023.
‘We have the exact same taste in clothing, and will arrive at a dinner or meet up in the day dressed to match. When choosing outfits for an event, we’ve found the only way to do this fairly is to take it in turns who gets to choose first.’

In October, the sisters looked characteristically glamorous while attending an Estee Lauder party at Kensington Palace

Their love lives are equally as successful as their careers: all three sisters all have long-term partners, with Kitty being first to tie the knot in 2021.
She wed South African-British millionaire Michael Lewis, 65, at a breathtaking 17th-century Italian villa overlooking the city of Rome.
Her father was notably absent, due to a shoulder injury, and Kitty walked down the aisle with her brother Louis and half-brother Samuel Aitken, son of businessman Jonathan Aitken.
Unsurprisingly, Kitty’s wedding wardrobe – featuring five haute couture gowns – was designed by the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.
At the time, Domenico Dolce said: ‘She told us she had thought of us immediately, and we were very happy with that!’
As chairman of the Foschini Group, which owns British brands Whistles and Phase Eight, Michael also has deep ties to the fashion industry.
He is estimated to be worth £80million, owning properties in London and South Africa.
The couple reportedly met through friends in 2018, with their relationship going public after being spotted together in New York in 2019.
In 2023, Kitty and Michael welcomed their first child, a daughter named Athena, after a private pregnancy.
That same year, Amelia married her long-time partner, fitness and nutrition coach Greg Mallett, whom she met at the University of Cape Town.
The ceremony took place at La Cotte Farm in Franschhoek, South Africa, where Amelia wore a custom fishtail gown by Atelier Versace. The brand was beloved by Princess Diana, who had been friends with founder Gianni Versace.
Eliza, meanwhile, is in a committed relationship with Channing Millerd, the chief operating officer of blockchain service provider DataLedger.
Celebrating eight years together in February, Eliza shared on Instagram: ‘What an incredible journey it has been. I can’t wait for all that is still to come.’
In a candid conversation, she once admitted Channing makes her dinner every night – and she happily does the washing up.
Channing, who attended the same school as her brother Louis, has a son from a previous relationship and Eliza is known to have a close bond with him.
All three Spencer sisters share an unbreakable bond and have publicly praised each other on numerous occasions.
‘Kitty is always so supportive of us,’ Eliza previously said. ‘She’s always on hand to give us advice and encouragement.’
