A professional cleaner has shown her hack for making a dirty oven look brand new again without using harsh chemicals. 

Kacie Stephens, who heads The Big Clean Co, said you can ‘stop sacrificing your health for a clean oven and avoid caustic chemicals’ by instead using dishwashing liquid, a steel scourer and the power of steam. 

In a now-viral clip to her popular social media channels, the Melbourne cleaner said to fill a tray with boiling water and put it in the oven for 20 minutes to soften the grease.

Once the oven had cooled enough to touch, Kacie then scrubbed the grease off with some For All dishwashing detergent on a steel wool scourer. 

‘The water on the steel wool helps spread For All around and makes it soapy,’ she wrote in the clip’s caption. 

She suggested using ‘0000 fine steel wool’ from the painting aisle if the glass on the oven door tends to scratch. 

Kacie also used a scraper on thick grease then wiped the oven down with a microfibre cloth.

The cleaning guru’s video amassed more than 25,400 views on Instagram and several thankful comments.
