How to fold a fitted sheet in SECONDS: Mum wows the internet with her ‘game-changing’ method

A mother has wowed the internet with her simple four-step method for folding a fitted sheet in seconds – with many dubbing it a ‘game changer’.

The Australian woman, who goes by Mama Mila on TikTok, said her ‘folding hack’ provides a ‘simple way to fold a fitted sheet’ without leaving a crumpled mess at the end.

‘Folding a fitted sheet saves space in storage and only takes 20 seconds. Let me know if you try this one at home,’ Mila wrote alongside her video.

So what do you need to do?

1. Place sheet flat with the elastic side up

The first thing Mila said you need to do is place your sheet flat on a surface like your bed, with the elastic part facing upwards.

Smooth the sheet out so that you are starting with an entirely flat surface with the elastic facing inwards.

2. Flip the corners of the sheets

After this, it’s all about creating a ‘rectangle’ with your sheet.

‘Flip the bottom two corners and place them into the top two corners to create a rectangle,’ Mila explained.

You can do this by placing your hands inside the corners of the sheet and tucking them into the other two corners.

3. Fold the long sides inwards

The third step in Mila’s four-step method is that you need to fold the two long sides inwards.

This will create one long line of sheet.

Once the long sides have been folded inwards, then all you need to do is fold your two short sides inwards too (pictured)

4. Fold the short sides inwards

Once the long sides have been folded inwards, then all you need to do is fold your two short sides inwards too.

This should create one neat rectangle ready to be stored inside your laundry or press.

Mila’s ‘bonus tip’ is that you can keep your fitted sheets inside a dust bag to keep them neat and fresh.

Simply slide the sheet into the bag and secure it with the drawstring to ensure your sheets are crisp when it comes to putting them on your bed.

Thousands who saw the video were impressed with the foolproof method, writing comments like ‘saved and added to favourites’ and ‘amazing’.

‘I actually hate folding fitted sheets. Thank you so much for sharing this,’ one woman wrote.

Another shared her own alternative method for folding fitted sheets:

‘I fold it the same way first time but then I fold it in half twice and then I fold it the opposite way until it’s folded down small,’ one woman wrote.

The video has amassed more than 14,000 views in just days.

A mother and homeowner has shared the secret to getting 'spa-worthy' towels at home - and all you need is a dash of plain white vinegar (Mila's towels pictured)

This isn’t the first household trick Mila has shared online.

Previously, the mum shared the secret to ‘spa-worthy’ towels at home – and all you need is a ‘simple hack’.

According to Mila, the first thing you need to do is set your washing machine to between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius.

Throw your towels in and add liquid detergent as well as half a cup of plain, white vinegar instead of fabric softener.

‘Do the wash as normal, shake the towels and let them air dry when they come out until nearly dry,’ Mila said.

‘Then, tumble dry them for just a few minutes until completely dry. This will help with softness and absorbency,’ she said.

The reason why vinegar works so well instead of fabric softener is that it ‘breaks down the residue from detergents leaving the towels soft and fresh’.

A two-litre bottle of plain, white vinegar typically costs around $1.20 from the supermarket.

Others swear by using vinegar in with everything they wash – from their sheets and towels to jeans and T-shirts.

What is the five-step method for ‘spa-worthy’ towels?

1. Set the washing machine to 40-60 degrees Celsius.

2. Add the towels to the washing machine, along with liquid detergent and half a cup of plain, white vinegar.

3. Do the washing cycle.

4. Shake the towels when they come out and let them air-dry to practically dry.

5. Give them a few minutes in the tumble dryer to make them completely dry. This will help with softness, fluffiness and absorbency.
