Anyone who’s logged onto Instagram in the past few days has likely stumbled upon two viral video filters, which people are using to find out which Harry Potter or Disney character they are.
Artwork flashes above users’ heads before settling on fan favorites like Harry and Dumbledore (in the Harry Potter version) or Belle and Elsa (for the Disney version) — but neither of these filters were actually made by Instagram, so they can’t be accessed simply by opening up the app’s camera.
Finding them is a bit tricky, so here, FEMAIL breaks down step by step how to use the popular filters that have enchanted social media users.

Which Harry Potter Character are You?
1. Log onto the Instagram app on your phone or tablet — the filters can only be accessed on the app, and aren’t available on Instagram.com.
2. Visit the page for Elena (@syilers).
3. Look below the user’s bio. There will be three tabs: one for posts, one with a smiley face icon, and one for tagged posts. Select the smiley face icon.
4. Click on the most recent post, which shows the user with ‘Which Harry Potter Character Are You?’ written above her head with an image of Hogwarts.
5. Select the white tab with a camera icon that says ‘Try It’ in the bottom left corner.
6. Hold down the button at the bottom of the screen that shows a cartoon of Ron, Harry and Hermione to begin recording video. While it’s recording, use another finger to tap the Hogwarts artwork, which should have appeared above your head.
7. Release the button to finish recording once the filter has landed on a character.
How to: On the app, navigate to the page for @syilers and select the smiley face icon above the posts. Then select the first video
Test it out: When the video starts playing, hit the ‘Try It button in the bottom left corner
Next steps: Hold down the Harry Potter button at the bottom of the screen to record. While still holding it, tap the Hogwarts icon above your head to get it spinning

Which Disney Character Are You?

4. Click on the most recent post, which shows the user with an image of Olaf above his head.
5. Select the white tab with a camera icon that says ‘Try It’ in the bottom left corner.
6. Hold down the button at the bottom of the screen that shows an image of a castle to begin recording video. While it’s recording, use another finger to tap the ‘Which Disney Are You?’ artwork, which should have appeared above your head.
7. Release the button to finish recording once the filter has landed on a character.
