A thrifty home cook has shared images of her mouthwatering chicken ‘kiev bake’ after trying a delicious new recipe for the first time.

The amateur chef made the tasty meal after placing the few ingredients in a slow cooker for three hours.

Posting images to the Australian Slow Cooker Recipe and Tips Facebook page, she was delightfully surprised with how the meal turned out. 

'What a great idea, thanks for sharing! I'm always up for new ideas,' one Facebook user said.

‘Trying a recipe of my own invention today. Kiev’s were on sale for $1 each so this is my “Kiev Bake” Kiev’s, jar of passata, Italian herb mix and cheese! That’s it!’ the cook said

The home chef made four kievs in the slow cooker and slowly baked them after adding a jar of passata, Australian mozzarella cheese and a dash of Italian herb mix for seasoning.

‘Trying a recipe of my own invention today. Kiev’s were on sale for $1 each so this is my “Kiev Bake” Kiev’s, jar of passata, Italian herb mix and cheese! That’s it!’ the cook wrote online.
