A young man with a passion for sales has turned flipping secondhand products and barely used items into a full-time job – and claims anyone can do it to make some extra cash.
Matt Diedrich, from the Gold Coast, has been selling items on eBay for two years and started in the peak of the pandemic.
The 32-year-old buys products from Officeworks, Big W, JB Hi-Fi, Target, Costco, Kmart and even Woolworths and Aldi in attempt to make a profit.
The savvy moneyman told FEMAIL the key to to success is researching the items selling on eBay first and ensure you download to two essential apps – the eBay app and eProfit app.
He also shares his insights on YouTube and TikTok, where he’s gained a combined following of more than 14,000 followers.

Matt has dabbled into a range of categories to sell but most of his inventory is full of DVDs, video games and consoles, shoes, trendy sporting hats, sports clothes, plush toys, and board games.
The most popular item comes as a surprise, with DVDs contributing to almost half of all sales made.
‘Your guess is as good as mine as to why these are popular,’ Matt said, adding: ‘I think DVDs are becoming a nostalgic thing to own, much like records, with people wanting the hard copy of their favourite movie or TV show.’
Matt says if customers continue to buy the product on eBay, he’ll continue to source them.
In a YouTube video he bought $710.50 worth of DVDs from Big W for just $150 and made $4,000.
‘I think this is the perfect side hustle for anyone working a 9-5 because it’s so easy to do. You could easily make a few hundred dollars extra each week,’ he said.
Matt also operates the eBay business from the comfort of his home’s garage and tries to keep the amount of products he buys ‘under control’.
