The current coronavirus pandemic has becoming deadly day by day. Study shows that this virus can float around 27 feet distance on aerosol particle on air. That is too much from our 6 feet social distancing. So we have to be careful when we are going outside in crowd. Wearing mask can somehow reduce the spreading of this viruses. If coronavirus positive patients use facemask then viruses won’t be able to come out from his body through respiration. It will help a lot for the people who are not infected.

But remember not to put mask in some cases. Children below 2 year should not use mask. People who are unable to take off the mask by their own or who are suffering from breathing issue should not use mask. Otherwise it will be more dangerous for them.

Professional Respirators: it is known as N95 respirators.  These medical equipment’s are made to prevent very little droplets that may stay suspended in air. This types of mask are widely used in hospital by doctors or nurses. But the supply of this is very short at present due to coronavirus pandemic.

Procedural and Surgical Masks: These are loose-fitting mask manufactured to cover mouth and nose. Though they are not close fitting, they are able to provide protection from bigger respiratory droplets from cough and sneeze.

Cloth or Paper Masks: this types of are not medical graded but it can help preventing many types of germs. We can made this kind of mask at home following some simple procedure.

Remember some key points when you are going to buy a mask. You should buy mask that-

  • Fits well-tight but comfortable for face.
  • Contain ties or ear loops
  • Contains multiple layer of fabric
  • Allow to breathe easily.
  • Can be washed and dried without damaging or altering the shape.

How to Put a mask on

  • Put the mask with the right side facing out: Sometimes masks comes with straps that need to tie together. Others comes with flexible elastic bands that go around head. Handmade mask may have elastic loop for both ears.
  • Fit your mask on face:If your mask contains flexible elastic band across the top, pressing them against your nose and cheek bones will fit it on your face. If your mask is created with cloths, pull the lower bottom edge to downward under your chin so that the mask open and cover your mouth and face.

How to Take a mask off

  • Untie ties or open elastic bands: simply you need to untie your mask from backside of your head or remove those elastic band from ears or head.
  • Don’t Touch The Front: The front side of mask may contain germs on it. This is essential not to touch the front when taking off.
  • Dispose or wash your mask: If your mask is disposable than throw it away in the trash. This will be better if you put it under ground to prevent spreading germ. If your mask is made with cloth than you can wash it to use again. Be sure that you are not spreading germs in washing process.
  • Wash your hands immediately:washing your hand with hand wash will safeguard you in case you touch germs while taking off the mask.
