How to wrap your Christmas presents PERFECTLY

How to wrap your Christmas presents PERFECTLY – even when you think there isn’t enough wrapping paper left

  • A clever gift wrapper has shared her ultimate hack for prepping presents
  • The woman, who is known as Mrs Dee Penda on TikTok, shared a video
  • It shows her folding festive wrapping around a box, despite not having enough
  • Her folding technique means that you can use a little bit of wrapping to fold

One of the most frustrating parts about Christmas shopping isn’t waiting in hour-long queues or missing out on the last festive tree – it’s wrapping the gifts into neat squares.

What’s worse is when you realise you’ve misjudged the measurements and cut off a piece of wrapping that’s too small to actually fit your desired present.

But an anonymous woman has used the video platform TikTok to solve both of those problems by offering a simple – but effective – folding technique guaranteed to look like it was done by a professional.

Known only as Mrs Dee Penda on the social media app the lady demonstrates how she was initially not able to stretch her wrapping to fully wrap the box up.

But by moving the square ‘present’ into the middle of the paper so the edges don’t line up she was able to fold it into a neat arrangement.

She folded each one of the corners down so they met in the middle, sticking tape along the edges as she went.

The 20 second ‘life saving’ video has been viewed two million times, proving there are plenty of present wrappers out there with no clue how to prep for Christmas.

Others said they had been ‘wrapping presents wrong their whole life’ and would take this into account next time they had a small piece left.

But it’s not the only wrapping technique on the internet.

Last year the ‘diagonal wrapping method’, coined by lifestyle blogger Kallie Branciforte, promised to quickly and painlessly make your Christmas easier.

In the video, Kallie lifts each corner of the wrapping paper towards the centre of the box.

Fixing each triangular section to the surface of the box, the gift fits snugly inside.

For those awkwardly shaped or difficult to wrap presents, Kallie suggests making a gift bag out of the wrapping paper itself.

She begins by cutting a big enough piece of wrapping paper to fit the present.

Next, she folds the paper in half and folds the paper in at each side to create a seam, taping it in place at the centre.

To create a secure bottom for the bag, she folds up about a quarter of the paper from the bottom and opens the resulting flap to create an open triangle

The two outer triangles are folded in and taped together to create the final bag.

The item can then be simply popped inside with the top of the bag folded over again.
