Howard Stern mocks CNN for ‘curing’ sexist Don Lemon with just one day of sensitivity training

Howard Stern mocked CNN for ‘curing’ Don Lemon in just one day after forcing him to go through sensitivity training for making sexists remarks about presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

On his radio show on Wednesday, Stern, 69, joked he’d like to meet with CNN’s ‘expert,’ who had the ability to cure Lemon, 56, in one session.

His co-host Robin Quivers joked the comedian himself might ‘need sensitivity training,’ to which Stern replied that he’s been ‘insensitive my whole life.’

‘And, if I could be fixed in a day by this person…I want this person in my life and so does everybody else,’ he said on Wednesday.

Lemon was taken off-air for three days after he claimed Haley, 51, was past her ‘prime’ because she is older than 40.

Howard Stern, 69, joked he wanted to meet with CNN’s ‘expert,’ who cured Don Lemon, 56, with just one day of sensitivity training. ‘I’ve been in therapy 30 years, I think, and I’m still not cured,’ Stern said on the show, before calling CNN’s ‘expert’ a ‘genius’

‘I’ve been in therapy 30 years, I think, and I’m still not cured,’ Stern said on the show. ‘I’m just saying, I would like to interview the person who does the training because this person’s a genius.

‘They suspended him for a day, and they sent him right into sensitivity training. And then he came back the next day. He was all cured,’ the radio host said.

‘I said: “That’s fantastic! They must have an expert over there.”‘

On CNN This Morning on February 16, Lemon claimed ‘a woman is in their prime in 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,’ pushing Haley out of the ranking by several years.

Lemon returned to the air Wednesday, where he was caught clutching his back and complaining about his age after doing squat jumps with his co-host Poppy Harlow, who was reportedly very angered by his comments.

Harlow asked Lemon: ‘Are you getting too old for that?’ and he replied with raised eyebrows: ‘Yes I am.’

Despite admitting he’s getting older himself, Lemon has yet to publicly apologize to Haley for the comments.

On Fox News this week, Haley responded to the sexist comment, saying: ‘But what I’ll tell you is [if] you want to tell me I’m past my prime, hold my beer and watch this…Bring it, we’re ready.’

On Wednesday, Lemon tweeted just before going on air: ‘I appreciate the opportunity to be back on CNN This Morning today.

‘To my network, my colleagues and our incredible audience — I’m sorry. I’ve heard you, I’m learning from you, and I’m committed to doing better. See you soon.’

Earlier in the week, the CNN anchor wrote on Twitter: ‘The reference I made to a woman’s “prime” this morning was unartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it. A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.’

Insiders claim that Lemon is aware that he is on his ‘final warning’ after a series of insulting blunders on the early-morning show.

Stern also went on to encourage CNN to move Lemon to a midday show – or even back to his 10pm time slot.

‘That’s a great time slot. 10.00pm on CNN – there’s crickets,’ he joked.

However, Quivers said: ‘Oh no, I think he got too much attention at 10pm.’

Another one of his co-hosts said the ‘morning show is not doing well.’

Stern joked: ‘Well, I guess he was trying to pump up the ratings by saying something silly. Listen, no one knows that better than me, I’ve said tons of silly things.’

Stern also commented on cancel culture, and praised CNN for giving Lemon another shot.

He said: ‘In our society, now, somebody says a little something [and] they’ll right away get rid of you. So, at least they gave him the sensitivity training and now he’s all fixed up and they’re gonna put him right back.’

Shortly after Lemon’s mishap, CNN boss Chris Licht condemned his actions, saying it was ‘upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization.’

One CNN insider said that there was mounting pressure for Lemon to be fired after his continual gaffes on the early-morning show.

They told DailyMail.com last week: ‘Don has been skating on thin ice for so long and many wanted him fired in December when he freaked out on Kaitlin Collins for no reason. She was in tears and it was so inappropriate.

‘Regardless of his political affiliation, his comments that Nikki Haley being past her prime were disgusting. Poppy was fuming, as she should be, and still is.

‘He is rude, self-righteous and clearly sexist. Nikki did the right thing by calling him out.

‘His apology meant nothing and there is so much pressure for him to be canned. It would be a shock if he wasn’t.’
