‘I used to go every week and nobody cared’: Hugh Jackman reveals the one thing in his life that’s become ‘difficult’ following The Greatest Showman

Hugh Jackman may have been one of the most famous actors in the world for years.

But the 50-year-old has revealed that it was The Greatest Showman, which came out in 2017, that truly propelled him to an unexpected new level of fame.

Speaking to the Herald Sun on Friday, the actor confessed that it was his portrayal of P.T. Barnum in the movie that has made things ‘difficult’ at times.

‘It’s made it difficult going to my daughter’s dance classes,’ he explained, while discussing his newfound younger audience.

‘I used to go every week and nobody really cared. The dance school was not your classic Wolverine fanbase.

‘Now I go and the songs from The Greatest Showman are playing in nearly every dance class so it’s a bit different.’

Hugh and wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 63, have two adopted children, daughter Ava Eliot Jackman, 14, and son Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 19.

They mostly keep them out of the spotlight and are rarely seen at public events with their famous parents.

He looked just like a local as he mingled with fans and star-struck staff at various establishments in Adelaide on Monday.

He first stopped into the Peter Rabbit cafe, where he ordered a brunch consisting of smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs and bacon.

Hugh then headed off to tour the Penfolds winery in Magill, where he enjoyed dinner at Penfold Estate, according to Perth Now.
