Hugh Jackman takes his dogs Dali and Allegra for a stroll in New York City… after cutting short his trip to Sydney due to the Covid-19 outbreak

He was forced to cut short his trip to Australia last month after an outbreak of Covid-19 in Sydney.

But Hugh Jackman seems to be settling back into life in New York City.

The X-Men star, 52, took his dogs Dali and Allegra for a stroll around the Big Apple on Monday, alongside a female friend.

Hugh dressed casually for his walk in an East Hampton Gym sweatshirt and shorts, which he teamed with blue sneakers.

He also concealed his gaze behind dark sunglasses.

The Greatest Showman actor had flown to his home city of Sydney in June, and like all international arrivals had to spend two weeks isolating in a hotel room.

But he didn’t stay in the country long because there was an outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid shortly after he emerged from quarantine.

As the Harbour City headed towards lockdown, Hugh decided to return to the U.S. to reunite with his family.

Hugh has been living in NYC with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, and their children, Oscar, 21, and Ava, 16, since 2008.

Australia has some of the harshest lockdown restrictions in the world at the moment.

While other countries are recording far more daily Covid case numbers, they have higher vaccination rates as a safety net, meaning lockdowns have eased.

However, the majority of Australians are still unvaccinated, meaning they remain at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill with the virus.
