Many like to believe there’s already a green-eyed monster residing in the White House.
But the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, has revealed he could soon be taking up a job in President Trump’s administration.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, actor Ferrigno, who starred as The Incredible Hulk in the late 70s and 80s, says he’s in prime position to head up the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition to help get the US fit and healthy.
Former bodybuilder and Mr Universe Ferrigno, says he became friends with Trump, 71, while working on the Celebrity Apprentice and would be thrilled to take up the role.

Brooklyn born Ferrigno, 65, said: ‘I am an appointee and I want to be the Head of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness & Nutrition.’
‘I have been corresponding with President Trump because I want to change America and make America healthy again. I am a top choice for them. I feel I am the best candidate for that.
‘Nobody can surpass what I do, especially the life I have lived, what I have overcome and my passion with bodybuilding and fitness.’

The council falls under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its activities are mostly limited to public awareness and education campaigns.
Its mission, according to the HHS, is to ‘engage, educate, and empower all Americans to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity and good nutrition.’
Ironically, Trump’s arch-nemesis and former body-builder Arnold Schwarzenegger is a former chairman of the council, appointed by President George Bush in 1990.
The Acting Executive Director of the council is Dr Don Wright. Trump supporter Ferrigno shot to fame alongside then rival Schwarzenegger in the 1975 bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron before becoming The Hulk in 1977.
The star says he’s unconcerned about any ‘dismay and tension’ surrounding the president, especially in Hollywood.
‘It is hard to be in politics. Trump is a great president,’ he said.
‘America voted for him and I am a top choice for him. It is a shame because we have so many different problems. I feel safe with him when it comes to homeland security for our people.

‘He went to a great college, he is an educated man and I did the Celebrity Apprentice with him. He is a great man and he cares about his family. I don’t care what anybody says. I really think he is a good-hearted person, and I feel safe with the guy.’
Despite Trump’s presidency being lampooned by a string of A-list stars in public, Ferrigno says Trump is not the evil villain many of his peers would have people believe.
‘I really think there is no dark side to Donald Trump. but I think he is going through a hard time now to shake up the country,’ he said.
‘Like I said we are dealing with a lot of problems with homeland security and a lot of attacks, especially with North Korea, I feel safe with him, because he is not an idiot – he is a smart man.
‘Think about this, that man was never in politics, but from the first debate he became the President. He didn’t make the people vote for him, people wanted him because they believed in him.’

Ferrigno explained that he has a lot of ideas for the fitness council.
The body was set up in 1956, to create and promote programs and initiatives that motivate people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to be active and eat healthy.
He said: ‘I would focus on explaining to everyone, some people may have some physical handicaps or maybe injured knees, there are so many different machines and better ways to eat, and it is all about combining the mind and the body together.
‘If you can do that anybody can get in shape. It is all about changing from lazy to positive leverage.’
Ferrigno, who just shot a comedy spoof of Game Of Thrones, called Purge of Thrones, insists he would forsake his own fee for the government role and help raise money to run his get fit programs.
‘Whatever the administration wants. Let’s see what happens,’ he added.
Ferrigno’s plan would appear to be a similar version to the Let’s Move campaign started by Michelle Obama.
