A missing student was last seen ‘falling over drunk’ and walking away from her home after being dropped off by a taxi, it has been claimed.
Today, the search for Libby Squire in Hull involved police, forensics officers and more than 100 students.
A screwdriver and lipgloss were found opposite where Libby was last seen by police as they continue to search for student who disappeared after a night out on Thursday.
Witnesses said the 21-year-old who was refused entry from a club had got a can home but then walked away.
Tom Tulley, 20, who lives opposite, watched her “stumbling” and falling on Thursday night.
He said: “She was too drunk to be on her own. The taxi dropped her by a red car. She was walking away from her house, which is weird. She fell over a couple of times.”
The student was spotted getting into a cab on Beverley Road in Hull at around 11pm on Thursday, January 31, after leaving the Welly Club.
Humberside Police believe Ms Squire got out of the taxi five minutes later near her home.
She was last spotted 45 minutes after getting in the taxi, sat on a bench a mile away.
A male witness has since come forward to say he got out of his car to check on her and she said she was ok.
But soon after she vanished.
A property on Wellesley Avenue was being searched late on Sunday.

Libby’s mother Lisa Squire has thanked the 250 students who joined the search over the weekend as the hunt for the 21-year-old entered its third day.
In a Facebook post last night, Mrs Squire said: ‘A massive thank you to all the fantastic students who turned out to search for Libby Squire today.
‘She is obviously loved by so many. Russell and I have taken great comfort in this xxx’

Mrs Squire has also said her daughter arrived home before disappearing. In a comment on Facebook this morning she wrote: ‘She got out of the taxi at her house. She was home..simple.’
She was responding to a post asking why Libby ‘got out of taxi before getting home’.
It comes amid claims from one of Libby’s friends that police have recovered a mobile phone from her bedroom.
Meanwhile homes are being searched in the area.
Police officers were this morning continuing their search for the Libby in the streets around the campus. Police dogs were also being used close to the area she was last seen.
A lip gloss, with the writing ‘sexy mother pucker’ on the top was spotted and put into an evidence bag.
The Coastguard has also been aiding the hunt for missing University of Hull by searching near the River Hull.
Her friend Ryan Tweddell has helped organise a volunteer search taking place on Saturday afternoon.
He was with her on the night she disappeared.
He said: ‘Libby was one of the first people I met at university when we both got lost.
‘Her disappearance does not seem real and it feels like something out of a movie.
‘I felt frustrated when we couldn’t do anything.
‘Police came yesterday and took some items, such as a phone, from her room.
‘On Thursday night she was a bit drunk and she was hugging everyone saying it was nice the group was back together.
‘We went out and went to get some cash out and when we got to the Welly she had already not made it in and was in a taxi back home

Detective Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: ‘There are a number of leads we are following up and I want to offer my thanks to everyone who has come forward with information, your help has been invaluable.
‘We’re trying to trace Libby’s steps and piece together her movements that night. We know she got into a taxi outside the Welly Club on Beverley Road at around 11pm on Thursday, 31st January.
‘Libby got out of the taxi a short while later near her home address on Wellesley Avenue, but was later seen on CCTV on Beverley Road, close to the junction with Haworth Street at around 11.45pm.
‘We now believe she may have been seen 20 minutes later on Beresford Avenue at around 12.05am.
‘We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have been on Haworth Street, which is almost adjacent to Beresford Avenue, between 11.30pm and 12.30am as part of this line of enquiry, to understand Libby’s movements that night.
‘Officers will be conducting further house to house enquiries in the Beresford Avenue area, Haworth Street and around Beverley Road today and special constables will be out on patrol in the areas.
‘We have specialist teams again out today carrying out searches and we are working with Humberside Fire and Rescue and the Coastguard, who will be around the River Hull.
‘I completely understand people will want to help with the searches, but I would please ask that you instead continue to help us by coming forward with any information, no matter how small or insignificant you think it may be, as it could link together with information we already have and help us to find Libby.
‘We need your help with information to piece together Libby’s movements, to find her and return her home safely to her family.’
Libby is in her second year at the University of Hull, studying a joint honours degree of Philosophy and Religion.
Friends have described her as ‘honestly lovely’ and ‘intimidatingly intelligent’.
Police said she is 5ft 7inches tall with shoulder length brown hair and was wearing a black long sleeved top, leather jacket and black denim skirt with lace.
Yesterday officers identified and spoke to a man who was seen getting out of his car and asking if she was OK by the roadside before she went missing.
Police said the man came forward and ‘really helped out’ with its investigation – but revealed they remain ‘extremely concerned for her welfare’.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday on Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe said: ‘We are supporting Libby’s family who have described her as a thoughtful and caring young woman who puts others before herself.
‘Officers are out again today searching and we hope to be able to locate Libby safe and well today.
‘We continue to ask people to check their gardens and outbuildings in case Libby has gone into them to stay safe.’
Lisa Squire, the student’s mother, made a heartbreaking plea on Facebook for her daughter to be found.
She wrote ‘I’m broken without my pie’ and pleaded for her daughter to come home.
At about 11.45pm, the student was seen near the junction between Haworth Street and Beresford Avenue by a motorist who got out of the car to help her.
From there, Ms Squire could have walked in either direction.
Friend Ryan Tweddell was with Libby the night she disappeared and said she was in good spirits before she went missing, Hull Live reports.
Ryan said she ‘was a bit drunk’ but was ‘hugging everyone saying it was nice to have the group back together’.
‘She is lovely and always loving. She is very bubbly and is always joking,’ he added.
Ryan, who is helping organise the search through Facebook, revealed police have scoured Ms Squire’s room and have taken a phone.
On Saturday morning, Humberside Fire and Rescue searched the pond on Oak Road Playing Field, which is frozen at the moment.
Firemen spent the day cracking ice on the pond and searching reeds.

Police launched a search on Friday evening, with officers inspecting the area around Beverley Road, Cottingham Road and Haworth Street.
During a press conference at Clough Road Police Station, Detective Superintendent Simon Gawthorpe updated the public on the status of the search.
‘Over 70 officers have been out searching overnight, speaking to her friends, visiting pubs and clubs in the area,’ he said.
‘Despite these efforts, we have not still located Libby and, as you can understand, we are extremely concerned for her welfare.

Mr Gawthorpe said police think Ms Squire got off the taxi a short time after getting into it near to her home address in Wellesley Avenue in Hull.
After she was seen, the student could have walked in either direction.
He added: ‘Officers are out again today searching and we really hope that we will find Libby safe and well.’

The man who helped Ms Squire is believed to be driving a silver Citroen car, possibly a Xsara or Picasso model at the time.
Police believe he could have been travelling with a passenger in the car. Ms Squire is described as 5ft 7ins tall with shoulder-length brown hair.

They were also going door-to-door to ask people for information about Ms Squire.
There are reports of the police at The Courtyard, in Inglemire Lane, which is part of university accommodation, at around 2.30pm yesterday.
One student said: ‘We’re avoiding using Haworth Street over the weekend until we find out what happened to Libby.
‘Police knocked on our door last night and showed us a picture of her.

‘I use Haworth Street to get everywhere in the city but today I avoided it.’
Humberside Police released an appeal for the missing woman: ‘Have you seen Libby Squire? We are appealing for local residents to get in touch if they have any information that would help us find her.’
Police are also asking the motorist who saw Ms Squire to come forward to help the search.
Ms Squire’s best friend Rachel Christi launched an appeal on Twitter to help locate the woman.
Earlier this morning, she tweeted: ‘please just come home lib.’

Supt Simon Gawthorpe said: ‘Libby has not been seen since late Thursday night.
‘It’s been a cold night and we’re asking local residents living in the Beverley Road, Cottingham Road, and around the University area to check their gardens, outbuildings and sheds to see if Libby has taken shelter somewhere.
‘We particularly would like residents around Haworth Street to get in touch.
‘A large amount of my officers are searching for Libby and we want you to help us find her too.
‘Thank you to members of the public, students, staff, and security at the University for assisting us in our search for Libby so far. Please get in touch if you see her.’
Police are also searching for another missing university student who disappeared during the early hours of Thursday.
Daniel Williams, 19, was last seen at around midnight in a student union bar on Whiteknights campus at the University of Reading, Thames Valley Police said.

The second-year Computer Science student was reported missing after he failed to return to his student accommodation.
Investigating officer Sergeant Bradley Pitt said: ‘We are appealing for anyone with information about Daniel’s whereabouts to get in contact with police as we are extremely concerned for his welfare.
‘It is out of character for Daniel to be missing so please report any possible sightings of him to officers as soon as possible.’
The student has some family connections in Sutton, Surrey.
Mr Williams is described as 6ft tall, slim build, with short light brown hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing black or blue jeans, a black hooded top and black shoes.
Mr Williams was also wearing a black t-shirt underneath with a distinctive white motif on the front.
