Two married police officers appeared in court accused of stealing from force athletic clubs which they managed.

Justin and Sharyn Lott – both of whom serve with South Wales police – faced Cardiff Crown Court over theft allegations
His wife Sharyn Lott, 43, joined him in the dock at Cardiff Crown Court charged with possessing criminal property. She is also a PC with the South Wales Force.
Their alleged crimes took place between February 2012 and April 2016.
Prosecutor Robin Rouch said: ‘The case involves allegations of theft from the running of various police sports social clubs.’
He said that investigators were still sifting through internet and email records to find out the full extent of the thefts.
Jonathan Rees, defending Mr Lott, said he would admit theft but it was not clear exactly how much was missing.
He said: ‘There are 6-7,000 pages of material which will be looked at by an accountant to find out exactly how much is involved.’
The smartly-dressed couple, from Bridgend, South Wales, did not enter formal pleas and the case was adjourned.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins said: ‘Mr Lott is going to enter pleas of guilty and the only realistic question is the quantity involved by a forensic accountant.’
The pair were bailed and ordered to return to court next month.
