I, Tonya co-stars Margot Robbie and Allison Janney embrace at bash

They have both bagged coveted nominations for their roles in I, Tonya for the 90th Oscars ceremony on Sunday night.

And Margot Robbie and Allison Janney couldn’t contain their delight as they found themselves reunited at the Gersh pre-Oscars bash in LA’s Chateau Marmont Hotel on Thursday.

Best Actress nominee Margot, 27, looked undeniably happy as she embraced Best Supporting Actress nominee and her on-screen mother, Allison, 58, at the star-studded occasion.

The TV and film star completed her look with open-toed golden heels and accessorised with dangling earrings.

Allison – who is currently in a relationship with Philip Joncas, 37 – plays LaVona Golden in the film – the abusive mother of figure skater Tonya Harding.

Her villainous performance has made her the hot favourite to scoop the Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 90th Annual Academy Awards on March 4.

For the coveted award, Allison will be up against Laurie Metcalf (Ladybird), Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread), Octavia Spencer (The Shape Of Water) and Mary J. Blige (Mudbound).

Aussie actress Margot highlighted her slender figure in a floral peplum midi dress with her blonde hair styled into chic curls.

Margot trained extensively for her role in I, Tonya, and managed to perform practically all of the on-ice dance moves.

‘I felt like I lived at the ice skating rink,’ she told Deadline last year.

‘Every time my alarm would go off at like 5 a.m. I’d be like, “I can’t do it again today, I’m still so bruised from yesterday!”‘

Two stunt doubles were cast to perform most of the jumps, while the triple axel had to be replicated in CGI.

Margot and Allison were out in force to celebrate ahead of one of the biggest nights in film, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has already been pinned as the favourite to win Best Picture, with Gary Oldman top of the odds for a Best Actor win.

Fans will have to wait and see who walks away with one of the coveted gold statues, but hopefully the show will be less of a drama-filled affair than last years, when the wrong Best Picture winner was read out by mistake.

In an explosive mix-up, La La Land was announced as the big winner, resulting in a member of the Academy rushing onto the stage with the correct winners envelope, announcing the prize was supposed to go to Moonlight.
