As many as 500 mementos originally owned by Wright are up for sale on a website after being bought by an unknown US dealer.

Ian, 54, told The Sun: ‘It’s really sad that it has come to this.’

Also in the collection is a signed Arsenal shirt with the number 185 on the back, given to Wright in 1998 to mark his then total goal tally for his team.

Deborah has said the memorabilia from the lock-up was sold last summer without her knowledge.

She said: ‘I was late on the payment. They were repossessed.’
