A Melbourne man who locked a woman in a room for five days and repeatedly assaulted her is due to be sentenced.

The woman also had urine poured over her head while she was kept in a room that was secured with scissors and knives.

Steven Guy, 37, pleaded guilty to unlawfully imprisoning and intentionally causing injury to the woman over five days in February 2016.

The pair took the drug ‘ice’ together before he trapped her in a room at a property in suburban Melbourne.

Prosecutors say Guy punched and kicked the woman for days and only allowed her out of the room to go to the toilet.

Covered in cuts, bruises and grazes, she escaped when Guy left the room to have a shower.

Guy is due to be sentenced in the Victorian County Court on Tuesday.
