An ice-addict who sliced a man’s arm with a chainsaw during a violent carjacking has begged a judge for a light jail sentence because he’s ‘scared’ behind bars.

Storm Piacentino grabbed a chainsaw and cut a man’s arm during the robbery of the luxury BMW in Melbourne in February last year.

At a pre-sentencing hearing for Piacentino on Wednesday, his lawyer’ appealed for a lighter sentence due to his fears of living in jail, Nine News reported.

The network reported Piacentino and friend Omar Altae approached the man sitting in his BMW on February 28, 2017.

When he refused to surrender the  car, Piacentino used a chainsaw to smash the window and the victim’s arm was cut.

The victim then ran into a nearby shop and to cry for help, but Altae revealed what appeared in CCTV footage to be a gun, and the man gave up his car.

Altae then crashed into the Laverton Club Hotel the following night after the victim surrendered the car.

The horrifying moment the BMW crashed into the Laverton Club Hotel in Victoria was captured on CCTV.

Police then charged the men and they have both pleaded guilty to armed robbery.

The court heard Piacentino, an ice-addict, was impacted by drugs at the time but did not initiate the robbery.

His defence argued he had ‘difficulty thinking things through’ and was frightened in jail.

He will remain behind bars as he awaits sentencing.
