The man – who is part of the committee investigating former President Donald Trump’s actions during the riot at the Capitol building last year – was seated front and center, just behind witnesses Matthew Pottinger and Sarah Matthews on Thursday, and it appears that he completely stole the show.

Now, TMZ has seemingly uncovered the truth about the internet’s new obsession, and it turns out, he’s a 23-year-old medical school student from Columbus, Ohio, named Alex Wollet.

The outlet reported that he’s currently living in D.C. and doing a fellowship at The National Institutes of Health.

He previously graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Neuroscience. His Instagram account is unfortunately on private.

Alex wore a dark suit with a yellow tie to the eighth day of the hearing. He kept his brown hair slicked back and completed the look with a pair of black-rimmed glasses – which looked strikingly similar to the ones Clark Kent famously wears.

After noticing him at the hearing, which is being livestreamed online, many people took to Twitter to gush over him – turning him into a viral meme. 

He got so much attention that he actually trended on Twitter, with the term ‘Clark Kent’ getting thousands of tweets on Thursday night.

More people begged for some answers on his identity – and whether or not he’s single. 

‘Girls don’t want a “boyfriend,” girls want the Clark Kent lookalike from the January 6 hearing,’ joked one person.

Another wrote, ‘OK, so I’m not the only one who noticed the fine AF Clark Kent lookalike at the hearing last night…’

‘I was distracted by Clark Kent…. anything interesting happen at the hearing?’ asked a different Twitter user.
