Traditionally during Swedish winter, families gathered together to make their homes cosy by preparing Christmas decorations.

While doing so the Swedish families enjoyed good food together, such as gingerbread.

Last Christmas the Swedish furniture brand launched their very own gingerbread edible flat-pack bake at home furniture.

The gingerbread furniture was as part of Ikea’s Christmas offerings, and included bite-sized designs of some of their most iconic pieces.

Just some of the furniture gingerbread pieces includes a bed, an armchair and a book case.

The replica furniture looks amazing once it has been pieced together – and there is always room for some artistic flair with books, pillows and table decorations easily created from left over dough.

The furniture kits are free on the company’s website and comes with assembly instructions just like the popular flat-pack furniture.

There are six designs in total, including the Malm bedframe, Rens rug, Strandmon armchair, Billy bookcase, Lack table and Jokkmokk table and chairs.

Ikea say the furniture transforms the humble gingerbread house into a gingerbread home.
