IKEA set to launch wellness collection to purify home to feel zen

When wellness comes to mind, most of us think about fitness and diets.

But if that’s not enough for your body to be a temple, you can now cleanse your home by transforming your room into a relaxation haven.

IKEA Australia will launch a new limited edition range called HJÄRTELIG to help you purify your living space to feel more zen.

And the wellness collection, set to release in April, will bring a blissfully beautiful natural ambiance to your surroundings.

Designed by IKEA designers Maja Ganszyniec and Andreas Fredriksson, the collection takes inspiration from mother nature and organic materials such as cotton, rattan, linen, cork and pine.

‘With the collection, we wanted to help more of the many people embrace those moments where they can focus, relax and revitalise,’ Mr Fredriksson said.

‘In designing this collection, we hope to encourage people to press the ‘pause’ button, if only for a little while, in a life that’s often hectic, complicated and connected.’

Featuring a range of furniture, home furnishing accessories and a yoga kit, the organic items are designed to set the ideal conditions for rest, recharge, relaxation and gentle exercise in the comfort of your home.

The Swedish furniture giant said materials in the collection are ideal for everyday use and makes a statement to be more mentally present within our home.

‘At IKEA, we believe home is a haven, a place where we can be ourselves and feel truly present,’ the company said.

However, according to the IKEA Life at Home Report 2017, there are three factors that tend to limit mental presence within our homes:

‘When we aren’t able to ‘switch off’ to enjoy the present,’ the report found.

‘People are often afraid that they will ‘miss out’ on something if they take a break from technology.

‘Smartphones are other technology can take up our time and distract us from the ones we love.’

And so the new collection has been designed to help respond to these challenges and remind us about taking moments to re-focus and revitalise at home.

Made from sustainable materials, the items are kind to our environment and durable for everyday life at home – all at an affordable price for everyday people.

‘We know that we spend a lot of time being physically present in our home, but we enjoy our homes most when we are mentally present,’ the home furnishings retailer said.

Ms Ganszyniec shares her inspiration for the yoga bag.

‘In the yoga bag, there is room for everything you need to bring to your yoga class,’ she said.

‘The big part has room for both exercise clothes and towels, and in the pockets you can have smaller things.

‘I also created opening in the straps on the outside where you can slide in your yoga mat for ease. Even better, it is made by cotton from more sustainable sources – Namaste.’

The HJÄRTELIG range is available for a limited time in all Australian stores from April 2018.
