Ilhan Omar’s married aide ‘had affair with Democratic congresswoman and told his wife he LOVED her’

Ilhan Omar has been accused of having a torrid affair with her married campaign strategist in newly-filed divorce papers – confirming DailyMailTV’s bombshell exclusive.

We revealed last month how the Minnesota congresswoman, 37, had been enjoying a secret romance with veteran Democratic fundraiser Timothy Mynett.

Both Somali-born US Rep Omar and Mynett, 38, refused to discuss the fling after multiple sources confirmed it to DailyMailTV.

But our exclusive was confirmed in divorce papers filed today by Mynett’s high-flying doctor wife Beth, 55, who accuses her estranged husband of dumping her for Omar.

Beth, who has a 13-year-old-son with Mynett, describes in the papers how her cheating partner made a ‘shocking declaration of love’ for the leftist firebrand.

He is also said to have taken their son to formally meet Omar at the Mynett family’s favorite restaurant in Washington, D.C., when the reproductive health expert was out of town.

Mynett’s confession brought the couple’s seven-year marriage to an abrupt end and the former spouses will meet at the city’s Superior Court in October to thrash out divorce terms.

Beth’s attorneys are expected to tell the court how her cheating spouse put their son in ‘harm’s way’ – by exposing him to the media backlash and death threats Omar has received because of her comments about Israel and her high-profile feud with President Donald Trump.

Ilhan Omar is accused of having an affair with  married aide Tim Mynett. DailyMail.com first revealed that they were getting up close and personal. They were seen together on May 26 at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) event  – a month after he told his wife he was leaving her for Omar

DailyMailTV revealed Omar was dining and holding hands with a mystery man at a secluded Italian restaurant outside of Los Angeles back in March. That man was Mynett, who tried to prevent a bystander from taking a video of the secret couple

DailyMail.com began investigating the rumored affair after married ‘Squad’ member Omar was seen holding hands with a mystery man at a secluded Italian restaurant outside of Los Angeles back in March.

A source who took video of the ‘date’ told DailyMailTV: ‘He seemed very protective of her, it was not a random person. It just felt to me like they were close.’

Insiders soon identified the mystery Romeo as Mynett, whose company E Street Group has been on Omar’s payroll since July 2018, providing fundraising and strategy.

He previous worked as national finance director for former Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison, whose seat Omar took over when he ran for Attorney General.

Federal Election Commission records show Omar’s team began paying Mynett’s DC-based firm in August of 2018, splashing out $62,500 by the end of 2018.

Payments continued into 2019, with $5,000, $10,000 and $12,000 chunks being shelled out every month, totaling just over $253,000 in a single year.

Mynett has traveled with Omar all over the country in recent months with pictures appearing of them side-by-side in New York City, Austin and Seattle as well as Los Angeles.

He has even spent time with Omar’s daughter Isra, 16, who is a budding activist, as the threesome were photographed together on two separate occasions.

In January, Mynett posted an image on his Instagram of Omar’s name plaque outside of her congressional office, writing: ‘It’s been one hell of a journey. Incredibly proud of this fearless woman.’

Omar, through her spokesperson Jeremy Slevin – repeatedly refused to comment when asked by DailyMail.com if they were having an affair.

Later that month DailyMail.com reveals she has split from Hirsi

August 2019: DailyMail.com reveals Omar was seen holding hands with married aide Tim Mynett; his wife files for divorce later that month

That came just weeks after DailyMailTV broke the news that she had split from her husband Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her three children, and moved into a luxury penthouse apartment in the Mill District of Minneapolis.

When asked to confirm the split, Hirsi, 39, said: ‘Wow. I can’t comment on that. I’m sorry, I just can’t say anything.’

It was the second time that Hirsi and Omar had split after she originally left him to marry another man, Ahmed Elmi.

Omar has been accused of going into that marriage solely to allow Elmi – a British citizen – to enter the United States where he studied at North Dakota State University.

Political enemies have even claimed that Elmi is in fact her brother, an accusation that Omar has refused to discuss.

Mynett, meanwhile, left his marital home after dumping Beth and now lives at a luxury residential complex in DC’s trendy Petworth neighborhood where a two-bedroom apartment costs around $3,000 a month.

When DailyMail.com approached him there the veteran political operative initially refused to confirm his identity, saying: ‘This is bizarre, I don’t know what you’re talking about.’

When we spoke with him a second time as he pulled up in a bright blue Ford Mustang, Mynett told our reporter: ‘No comment.’

His rental pad is about a ten-minute drive from where he previously lived with wife Beth, 17 years his elder, their young son and Beth’s daughter from a previous marriage.

Beth, who is medical director for the DC Department of Corrections, was similarly reluctant to talk about her husband’s alleged infidelity. They married in 2012.

‘I have no comment at this time,’ she told DailyMail.com, speaking on the front step of the estranged couple’s three-bed marital family home in northern DC, worth $900,000.

Mynett runs E Street Group with fellow veteran strategist William Hailer from a shared WeWork office space in DC.

Their website currently has a single accessible page displaying the message: ‘Accepting new clients by referral only.’

Jordan Mynett was stunned to hear the news but still told Mynett she loved him and was 'willing to fight for the marriage'. However, Mynett insisted it was over. Pictured: Mynett with his estranged wife in 2016, posting on Instagram: 'Can you believe she married me?'

But an archived version accessed by DailyMail.com includes a lengthy ‘about us’ section where Mynett reels off his career accomplishments and boats of close ties with ‘national opinion leaders’.

‘Tim Mynett brings over 15 years of experience conducting high-level national fundraising and providing political and strategic advice to our clients at E Street Group,’ it says.

‘He has continually developed and implemented successful fundraising plans for national nonprofits, progressive advocacy efforts, and Democratic leaders in Congress.

‘Throughout his career he has raised of over $100 million in gifts, grants, and donations.’

The profile goes on to say that Mynett has served as a lead fundraiser for a string of Dems including Ellison, Senator Jeff Merkley, Congresswoman Hilda Solis and Congressman Ron Kind.

He’s also worked for national non-profits and ‘progressive organizations’ including Angelina Jolie’s Global Action for Children and the SEIU’s Change that Works initiative focused on passing Obamacare.

It adds: ”Having spent the majority of his career based in DC while conducting extensive client travel to every corner of the country Tim has cultivated strong relationships with national opinion leaders and is a sought-after advisor to a diverse group of constituencies.’
