The campaign worker who walked out of his marriage to hook up with leftist congresswoman Ilhan Omar claims he never really loved his wife in bombshell court papers exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com.
And Tim Mynett says he only agreed to marry Beth Jordan to prevent her from kicking him out of their home away from their then-six-year-old son.
But Mynett denies his affair with the Minnesota freshman Democrat despite DailyMail.com pictures showing him leaving her apartment after sleepovers.
The papers were filed in August but went undetected in the District of Columbia Superior Court until now.
They were submitted before DailyMail.com published photographs of him exiting Omar’s basement apartment in Washington, D.C, and revealed he had stayed there at least six nights in September.

The 38-year-old still denies his affair with the Minnesota Democrat despite DailyMail.com photos showing him leaving her apartment after sleepovers. Beth’s camp hit back against Tim’s claims, saying: ‘She’s not going to let Tim paint a false picture of their marriage which was happy and fulfilling before Ilhan Omar came on the scene’
‘On multiple occasions, due to the unhappy and unfulfilling nature of their relationship, the parties discussed separation and divorce,’ he claimed in papers written by his attorney Sarah Mancinelli.
‘Throughout the marriage, the parties had numerous discussions about the problems in their relationship and Mr. Mynett repeatedly voiced to Ms Mynett that he was unhappy and believed she was likewise unhappy,’ Mancinelli wrote.
‘He stated repeatedly that they needed to find a way to improve their relationship. Unfortunately, those conversations never resulted in meaningful improvements in their marriage.’
Beth Mynett’s camp immediately hit back at his depiction of the marriage. ‘Her team is preparing a response based on the real facts,’ a close friend told DailyMail.com.
‘She is not going to let Tim paint a false picture of their marriage which was happy and fulfilling before Ilhan Omar came on the scene.’
The friend said Mynett’s denials of an affair with Omar have been ‘completely discredited at this point.’
‘Tim adored Beth — and rightly so because she is an awesome, accomplished woman.’
Attorney Mancinelli wrote a damning account of the couple’s union: ‘Mr. Mynett denies that Ms Mynett has been a loving and devoted partner to him throughout their marriage. Mr. Mynett denies that Ms Mynett has been unwavering in her support of his career.’
Mynett was 25 and Beth, at the time his live-in-girlfriend, was 42 when she had their son in February 2006.

Mynett, now 38, couldn’t stand the idea of being away from his son, his lawyer wrote. ‘The thought of living apart from [his son], and his step-daughter, to whom Mr. Mynett had developed a strong bond, was more than he could imagine.
‘The parties married that year.’
But the picture of the marriage he describes was far from blissful. ‘On multiple occasions, due to the unhappy and unfulfilling nature of their relationship, the parties discussed separation and divorce.’
It wasn’t just personal incompatibility, but differences over parenting style and Beth’s spending, that drove a wedge between them, he claims.
‘Ms Mynett’s often unilateral focus on making expensive and seemingly unending renovations and cosmetic changes to their marital home, and the impact that had on the parties’ finances, was a frequent cause of tension between the parties.
‘As an illustration of the parties’ challenging relationship between 2012 and 2018, Ms Mynett would occasionally leave the marital home and stay in a hotel after arguments.’
‘By 2018, Mr. Mynett was disenchanted with the parties’ marriage and relationship and was struggling to reconcile his deep personal unhappiness with his desire to keep his marriage and family intact.’

A source said: ‘The suspicion is that when their divorces are finalized they will quietly decide to make it official. Mynett, who heads up fundraising for Omar, said he worked all the way up until April this year ‘to convince himself that the marriage was salvageable,’ but then he finally blurted out the truth.
‘Mr. Mynett told Ms Mynett that he had been unhappy for the better part of their relationship,’ he wrote.
‘During their conversation in April 2019, and after struggling for the better part of a year to find a path to preserve their union and be happy, Mr. Mynett informed Ms Mynett that he was no longer able to remain in the marriage.’
He said he told her he had not been unfaithful, but Beth, now 55, nevertheless ordered him out of the house.
Mynett, whose company, the E Street Group, received at least $369,000 from Omar’s campaign in a little over a year according to Federal Elections Commission filings, claims his wife has been behind a ‘negative campaign’ against him ever since.
He said that was ‘seemingly in an effort to ruin his career and permanently damage his relationship with [his son] and his step-daughter.’
‘She has repeatedly told [their son] things about Mr. Mynett that are not only inappropriate to share with a 13-year-old, but are also wholly inaccurate,’ he wrote.
Mynett is asking for joint custody of their son. He claims his wife — a doctor who is head of the D.C. prison system’s health service — earns around twice as much as he does and says she should pay his attorney’s fees and ‘other relief.’

Beth filed for separation on August 27, saying she now recognizes that her marriage is over and there is ‘no hope of reconciliation.’ In his new filing, her husband agrees to the split. They are due in court for an initial hearing on December 4.
She claimed she was devastated when, during their April talk, Mynett had told her he was in love with Omar, 38, and was ‘romantically involved’ with her.
Mynett denies he said anything of the sort. ‘He clearly stated to Ms Mynett that he had not engaged in any physical or sexual relationship with Rep. Omar,’ his lawyer wrote.
Beth said she wanted to fight to save the marriage and tried to persuade him to stay but he moved out. She said he had been away on business around 12 nights a month since starting work for Omar.
‘On reflection (his) more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments,’ she claimed.
But Mynett said he spent so much time away from home ‘as a result of his work building a new business, raising funds for a Political Action Committee and working to elect three candidates to the United States House of Representatives in the run-up to the 2018 mid-term elections.’

DailyMail.com first revealed that Omar had moved out of the home in Minneapolis that she shared with husband Ahmed Hirsi and their three children back in July. She moved into a luxury penthouse apartment in the trendy Mill District of the city.
We then obtained video of the Somali-born congresswoman and Mynett leaving an out-of-the-way romantic restaurant in the Playa Del Rey section of Los Angeles, where they were seen holding hands over a meal.
The video had been taken in March when she had been in California to make a controversial speech in which she dismissed the 9/11 attacks by saying ‘some people did something.’
Omar has had a complicated and controversial personal life. Her mother died when she was two and she came to the United States as an 8-year-old after spending four years in a Somali refugee camp in Kenya.
She says she married Hirsi in a Muslim ceremony in 2002 when she was 19, but the marriage was never formalized. They underwent an Islamic divorce six years later after two children.
She then married British citizen Ahmed Elmi — who some have claimed is her younger brother — just two weeks after he entered the country. That marriage, conducted by a Christian minister, allowed Elmi to stay and study at North Dakota State University.
She and Elmi split after two years and then she and Hirsi had a third child in 2012. In 2015, while still legally married to Elmi, she and Hirsi filed joint tax returns.
She finally divorced Elmi in 2017 and married Hirsi in a civil ceremony last year. But the marriage did not last. She filed for divorce in October and it was finalized last week.
